Report: Sheamus Taking Time Off, Causing RAW Tag Title Implications

The current tag title reign of Sheamus and Cesaro may be ending soon.

It was reported on Wrestling Observer Radio this week that Sheamus is slated to take a break from the ring in August to film his role in an upcoming movie, "The Buddy Games." Yet another project under the WWE Films banner, this film also will mark the directorial debut of Josh Duhamel, who provided guest commentary during a six-man tag match that involved Sheamus and Cesaro on the June 26 episode of Raw. You can see Duhamel and Sheamus interacting during a backstage Fallout video at the bottom of the page.

Sheamus and Cesaro are on track to defend the titles at Raw's Great Balls of Fire pay-per-view on July 9.

Even if Sheamus and Cesaro split, the tag division on Raw seems rather stocked with potential options, given the fact that The Club and The Revival faced one another on Main Event this week.

Thrown together as a tag team last September under the "partners who don't get along" trope, Sheamus and Cesaro went on to end The New Day's WWE-record reign as tag champions back in December at Roadblock. They turned heel in April at Payback after losing to the Hardys, and won the Raw titles for a second time June 4 at Extreme Rules.
