REPORT: WWE Denying Vince McMahon Bladed On Smackdown

Vince McMahon's bleeding still has an unclear cause.

Two weeks ago on Smackdown, Kevin Owens headbutted Vince McMahon and McMahon's head bleed. The attack continued despite the intervention of referees and other WWE officials. After, it was reported the bleeding was planned, leading to speculation McMahon cut himself before or during the segment.

Then this week, Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Oberserver Newsletter that WWE officials are denying Vince McMahon cut his own forehead within the company. Cutting yourself in the wrestling ring has long been banned from WWE. Meltzer insisted that if McMahon did "blade", he would not let the roster know about it. Meltzer also noted no one was talking about McMahon bleeding before the segment and the situation seems to be being handled similar to when Brock Lesnar bled on screen.

The segment with Owens and McMahon has been much talked about since. Before the attack, McMahon put Owens in a Hell in a Cell match against McMahon's son Shane McMahon. The segment has received praise from the wrestling community and Smackdown featured two segments regarding the storyline this week. Shane McMahon addressed the audience and Owens in the ring on a microphone. Owens addressed everyone "via satellite" in a shirt and tie.

Owens faces Shane McMahon at WWE Hell in a Cell in the namesake match on October 8th. This will be Owens' second Hell in a Cell match and Shane McMahon's third.
