King of the Ring return reportedly discussed.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer reports that WWE has talked about bringing back the King of the Ring as a single show. Queen of the Ring would reportedly also be part of the show.
WWE held a King of the Ring and Queen of the Ring tournament in 2021 with Xavier Woods and Zelina Vega winning their respective tournaments. The tournaments took place across episodes of WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown with the winners being crowned at WWE Crown Jewel.
In 2015, WWE aired the semifinal and final matches of the King of the Ring tournament as part of a WWE Network special. First-round bouts took place on WWE Raw. WWE King of the Ring has not run as a pay-per-view event since 2002.
WWE has not made any announcement regarding the possibility of King of the Ring or Queen of the Ring returning.
