WWE doesn't want AEW running certain areas so close to them.
According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, WWE has put clauses in its deals with arenas that book both WWE and AEW, that AEW can’t run a certain number of weeks before or after a WWE show. The clause also reportedly says that AEW and the arena can't announce the show or sell tickets until after the WWE show.
WWE and AEW run some of the same arenas, including the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, which was the former ThunderDome. AEW will debut at the Yuengling Center in August. Both promotions have also run Heritage Bank Center in Cincinnati, OH, Capital One Arena in Washington, DC, and other venues across the country.
AEW VP previously noted that AEW has talked to Madison Square Garden, which is a longtime home for WWE, but AEW has established Arthur Ashe Stadium as its home in New York.
