Report: WWE Releases Several Developmental Talent

WWE has cut three wrestlers from their developmental program.

Pro Wrestling Sheet has reported Abbey Laith from NXT and the Mae Young Classic has been released by WWE. The wrestler has been with the company since 2016 but only competed six times on television including making it to the quarterfinals of the Mae Young Classic.

Laith has not confirmed the release herself but she was present at the NXT taping last night and shared the following optimistic Instagram post.

Laith also shared an inspiring quote from Rocky which referenced the virtues of resilience.

Before coming to WWE, Laith competed as Kimber Lee in independent wrestling promotions across the country including CZW, Chikara, and AAW.  Her last independent match was against Smackdown's Ruby Riott at AAW.

Also reported as being released was Sage Beckett who had been with WWE since early 2017 but during that time she had only been seen on NXT in the Mae Young Classic and a Battle Royale.

Chinese boxer turned professional wrestler Gu Guangming has also been reported to have been released by WWE. He came to the company with three other Chinese athletes in 2017.
