AEW Collision (6/29/2024) Results: World Title Weigh In, Daniel Garcia, Stephanie Vaquer, More Compete

On June 29, 2024, All Elite Wrestling hosted a new episode of AEW Collision on TNT from the KeyBank Center at Buffalo, New York.

The show was headlined by Swerve Strickland & Will Ospreay participating in the World Title Weigh-In ahead of their match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. The full results are listed below.

  • Nigel McGuiness & Excalibur (filling in for Tony Schiavone tonight) welcomed the audience to the broadcast before transitioning into the opening match.
  • Tomohiro Ishii & Orange Cassidy def. TMDK (Shane Haste & Robbie Eagles) via Pinfall (Beach Break from Cassidy on Eagles).
  • There was a video vignette for "Hangman" Adam Page, teasing his AEW return.
  • NJPW STRONG Women's Champion Stephanie Vaquer def. Lady Frost via Pinfall (Package Backbreaker).
    • TBS Champion Mercedes Moné sat at ringside for the match. Moné confronted Vaquer after the match in the ring and posed with her belt, but Vaquer rolled out of the ring. This was a trap, as it led to Zeuxis attacking Moné. Moné tried fighting off Zeuxis, but Vaquer caught her from nowhere and hit the Package Backbreaker on Moné. Vaquer then posed with her title and the TBS Title.
  • The Alex Abrahantes & Lucha Brothers (Rey Fenix & Penta El Zero Miedo) were interviewed to announce something for AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door, but they were interrupted by LIJ's Titan & Hiromu Takashi challenging Death Triangle to a Trios Match; however, The Lucha Bros said they would team with none other than CMLL World Historic Middleweight Champion Mistico against LIJ (Titan, Takahashi & Yota Tsuji). Titan accepted the challenge.
  • Serena Deeb def. Kelly Madan via Pinfall (Detox).
    • Deeb cut a promo after the match saying that she would not fall the pecking order and wanted to face best before calling out anyone to confront her. This led to the returning Riho to confront Deeb in the ring. Deeb left the ring afterward but had a grin.
  • Chris Jericho cut a promo backstage where he scolded someone for not washing his hands. Okay then.
  • The Learning Tree (Chris Jericho, Bryan Keith & Big Bill) were going to walk to a Zamboni backstage, but this led to Samoa Joe, HOOK & Katsuyori Shibata attacking the Learning Tree from backstage before heading to the ring. Despite Joe, Shibata & HOOK's dominance, it was taken away in a second once NJPW Television Champion Jeff Cobb appeared and laid out everyone, specifically hitting a Spinebuster on Joe.
  • A video package previewed the match between Orange Cassidy and Zack Sabre Jr at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
  • Lexy Nair interviewed Orange Cassidy backstage. Cassidy said he felt his life was falling apart but he was frustrated Zack Sabre Jr was not here and felt ZSJ did not respect him. Zack Sabre Jr then appeared and emphasized he respected him, but explained he was not at ringside to watch his match because he knew his tricks. Cassidy then pulled ZSJ from his shirt, but ZSJ was not amused and said he already won.
  • Hechicero def. Kevin Blackwood via Submission (Double Arm Breaker).
  • Lexy Nair interviewed The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, Nick Wayne, Killswitch & Mother Wayne), where they promised to become the next AEW Trios Champions, but this led to The Bang Bang Gang (Jay White, Juice Robinson, Austin Gunn & Colten Gunn) interrupted. White said it is difficult to tell Mother Wayne & Killswitch, asked Wayne if it was hard because his mother drank a lot in his childhood, and warned Cage not to try to get the AEW Trios Titles.
  • Battle of Buffalo: Daniel Garcia (w/ Matt Menard) def. The Butcher via Pinfall (Piledriver).
  • Lexy Nair interviewed AEW International Champion Will Ospreay ahead of the Weigh-In tonight but he was interrupted by The Don Callis Family (Kyle Fletcher, Konosuke Takeshita, Trent Beretta & Don Callis). Ospreay said he appreciated the support but he could do it alone; however, Ospreay asked Kyle Fletcher to be in his corner for the Weigh-In, which Fletcher obliged. After Ospreay & Fletcher left, RUSH confronted Don Callis before the commercial break.
  • Lexy Nair interviewed Jack Perry backstage. Perry said he never agreed to be a part of the trios match tonight but did promise to win the TNT Title; however, Christopher Daniels said he was informed that Perry needed to participate in the Trios Match or he would be withdrawn from the Ladder Match for the TNT Title.
  • Women's 2024 Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament - Opening Round: Hikaru Shida def. Deonna Purrazzo via Pinfall (Katana).
    • Deonna Purrazzo attacked Shida after the match and tried to lay her out with a kendo stick, but Thunder Rosa made the save.
  • There was a video vignette of Total Nonstop Arseholes (Jay Lethal, Karen Jarrett, Sonjay Dutt & Satnam Singh) voicing their support for Jeff Jarrett ahead of his match against the Wild Card Entrant of the Men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament but they did say that Jarrett they trusted him to do it on his own.
  • AEW Women's Champion Toni Storm cut a promo backstage trashing Mina Shirakawa's action, saying she would hold her title over Shirakawa and retain at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door.
  • Jack Perry, El Phantasmo, & Konosuke Takeshita (w/ Don Callis) def. Lio Rush, Mark Briscoe, & Dante Martin via Pinfall (Power Drive Knee from Takeshita on Martin).
    • The six participants engaged in an all-out brawl before Briscoe laid out Martin & Rush with a ladder. Briscoe then climbed to the top of the ladder and hit a Swanton on all other five participants off the ladder.
  • Prince Nana hosted the AEW World Heavyweight Championship Weigh-In ahead of the match pitting Swerve Strickland against Will Ospreay. Ospreay (accompanied by Kyle Fletcher) weighed in at 220 pounds. Meanwhile, Swerve Strickland (accompanied by Westise Gunn, Flash Garments & former MLW Tag Team Champion EJ Nduka) weighed 230 pounds. Ospreay said he would prove that the best wrestler in the world would be the world champion come Forbidden Door, but Swerve responded by saying eh could offer his wife a contract. That last statement led to an all-out brawl, which ended with Ospreay knocking Swerve out with the Hidden Blade. Ospreay stood tall with both the AEW International and World Titles to end the broadcast.
