AEW Collision (8/12/2023) Results: House of Black vs CMFTR, Statlander & Willow Team Up, More Set

AEW Collision aired on August 12, 2023, from the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina. The show was headlined by CMFTR challenging for the AEW Trios Titles against The House of Black.

Elsewhere on the card, Kris Statlander & Willow Nightingale teamed up against Mercedes Martinez & Diamande, The Acclaimed made their In-Ring return, and we heard from Powerhouse Bobbs & Ricky Starks. The full results are below.

AEW Collision (8/12/2023).

  • Ricky Starks came to the ring for an interview with Tony Schiavone. Schiavone ran down on Starks for attacking 70-year-old Ricky Steamboat and revealed that Starks would be suspended for 30 days. Starks responded by saying that he got a Manager's License, promising to stay on TV despite the suspension before stating that because Steamboat cost him the match, he had to "whoop his ass". Starks said that CM Punk was the reason Steamboat got ten lashes before proclaiming that he set AEW on fire, starting next week.
  • There was a video package detailing the feud between The Young Bucks & FTR ahead of their match on AEW All In.
  • The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) def. Iron Savages (Bronson & Boulder) (w/ Jacked Jameson).
    • After the match, The Acclaimed dedicated their win to "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn.
  • Bullet Club Gold were interviewed by Lexy Nair backstage before The Gunns called out The Young Bucks to a match.
  • Diamante & Mercedes Martinez def. Kris Statlander & Willow Nightingale.
  • Toni Storm was interviewed by Lexy Nair backstage, where she stated that she could not trust anyone on the Fatal Four Way match at AEW All In. When asked about AEW Women's Champion Hikaru Shida winning the AEW Women's Title off her, Storm lashed out before leaving the interview. After that, Storm threw her sandal at Nair.
  • Samoa Joe def. Andrew Everett.
    • After the match, Samoa Joe cut a promo stating that he had yet to receive an answer from CM Punk, saying that "the Real World's Champion is Looking like a real bitch right now". Joe stated that he came here asking for a challenge, but he would now focus on convincing him.
  • Christian Cage & TNT Champion Luchasaurus came to the ring to cut a promo, where they talked trash about Darby Allin ahead of their match at AEW All Out. This led to Arn Anderson making his AEW return alongside his son Brock, leading to an impromptu Title match.
  • TNT Championship Match: Luchasaurus (c) (w/ Christian Cage) def. Brock Anderson (w/ Arn Anderson).
    • Darby Allin attacked Luchasaurus after the match before challenging Christian Cage to a match next week. Cage accepted the match, leading to a bout for next week.
  • Powerhouse Hobbs was interviewed by Tony Schiavone in the ring. Hobbs said that after losing the TNT Championship, he went back to the Bay Area to get back the "Book of Hobbs" with him saying that he would start writing the latest chapter of the book titled "Redemption". As the title suggested, this led to Hobbs calling out Miro.
    As Miro made his way to the ring, Aaron Solow & Nick Comorotto attacked Miro from behind (despite Hobbs's wishes). Miro fought off Comorotto & Solow, but Hobbs caught him and slammed him with a Spinebuster before leaving the Book over Miro.
  • AEW World Trios Championships Match - House Rules: House of Black (Malakai Black, Brody King & Buddy Matthews) (c) (w/ Julia Hart) def. CMFTR (CM Punk, Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler).
    • Jim Ross joined the broadcast team alongside Ian Riccaboni & Nigel McGuiness for the match.
    • As Julia Hart distracted the referee, Samoa Joe pulled CM Punk over the barricade and locked in the Kokina Clutch on Punk. This allowed Brody King to catch Dax Hardwood with a Discus Lariat for the pinfall win.
