AEW Dynamite (3/6/2024) Results

- The show kicked off with a new intro and a new theme song to go with the new stage and new aesthetic.

- Tony Schiavone brings out Swerve Strickland. Strickland recaps his history in the company so far and says that Revolution felt different. Samoa Joe comes out and teases Strickland about not becoming champion. Strickland challenges him to imagine the spot. Undisputed Kingdom comes out and Adam Cole reminds everybody that Wardlow is next in line. Cole tries to set up a match between Strickland and Joe against Matt Taven and Mike Bennett for next week, Tony Khan, through Tony Schiavone says that the match is happening right now.

* Samoa Joe & Swerve Strickland def. Mike Bennett & Matt Taven

- Swerve and Samoa Joe stare down. Wardlow comes out and during the distraction, Joe chokes out Strickland. Wardlow and Joe will be a part of AEW Big Business.

- Chris Jericho tells HOOK backstage that he earned his respect at AEW Revolution.

- Matthew & Nicholas Jackson will have two major announcements tonight.

* FTW Championship: HOOK (c) def. Brian Cage

- Kaun & Toa Liona hit the ring to attack HOOK and Chris Jericho makes the save.

- A video package highlighted the History of the AEW World Tag Team Championship.

- It is announced in a backstage segment that Orange Cassidy and Trent Beretta will be a part of the tag team tournament.

* Killswitch def. Daddy Magic

- After the match, Daniel Garcia tries to save Magic from an attack, but he gets beaten down. Adam Copeland makes his return and attacks Nick Wayne and Killswitch. Christian Cage runs and escapes from Copeland, who then challenges him to an I Quit Match on March 20 in Toronto.

- In an interview, Kyle O'Reilly discusses his return and expresses gratitude for a second opportunity in his career. He claims to love the Undisputed Kingdom completely, but he has to perform and succeed individually now.

- Matthew and Nicholas Jackson come to the ring to make their announcements. Matthew and Nicholas announced that Hangman Page is suspended from The Elite for his actions against referees on Revolution. They also claim that Kenny Omega is fired. They announced themselves for the tag team tournament. Eddie Kingston comes down to confront them. They get physical. Out comes a debuting Kazuchika Okada, who actually turns on Eddie Kingston and aligns with Matthew and Nicholas Jackson becoming the newest member of The Elite.

* Riho def. Kris Statlander

- Toni Storm will be presenting the first ever Toni Award and has announced that Mariah May has a new shirt. It's the one where she looks like Toni Storm.

- In an interview, Stokely Hathaway expresses his displeasure with Statlander's loss. Renee Paquette has announced that Willow Nightingale will face Riho next week.

- Darby Allin comes to the ring and says that he will be fighting like next week will be his last match because he doesn't know if he will make it back from Mount Everest. Jay White confronts him. Darby tells White to come alone next week.

- The House of Black sends a message to Mark Briscoe, threatening to burn him. Mark Briscoe is shown backstage, and he claims to have no fear. He challenges House of Black to an Atlanta Street Fight on AEW Collision. Jay Lethal appears and promises he'll have his back. He's bringing Jeff Jarrett with him.

- Julia Hart issues an open challenge for Rampage.

* Will Ospreay def. Kyle Fletcher

- Bryan Danielson came out at the end of the show to seemingly confront Will.
