AEW Dynamite (6/19/24) Results

* MJF def. RUSH

- Brian Cage, The Gates of Agony, and Herchicero praised Max on the tron as they announced that the EVPs had made the Forbidden Door match, MJF vs. Hechicero, official.

- Renee Paquette is backstage with Kyle O'Reilly, Orange Cassidy, Dante Martin, and Mark Briscoe, who, like last week, was all fired up in his promo. Mark Briscoe gave us two words of the day, one of them was vengeance, before Jack Perry strolled into the picture. The big takeaway from this promo: "Today is today." - Mark Briscoe.

- Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland had their face-to-face. Swerve asked whether or not Will thought he needed the Don Callis Family. Will said he doesn't need them which drew some strange reactions from the family backstage. Ospreay asked Swerve what would happen if the killshot he promised was just a few centimeters off. The conversation became more and more heated. Prince Nana tried to shut it down and tell them that they needed to save the energy for their match, but Strickland made it personal by invoking the names of Alex Windsor and her child. That fired Will up.

- Don Callis was backstage with his family, and Trent Beretta stated that Ospreay disrespected the family, which no one does. Callis reassured him that everything would be OK; because he understood Ospreay better than his own mother.

* Orange Cassidy, Dante Martin, Kyle O'Reilly & Mark Briscoe def. Roderick Strong, Kyle Fletcher & Konosuke Takeshita, Zack Sabre Jr.

- Mercedes Mone vignette on Stephanie Vaquer plays.

- After the match, Jack Perry attacked Dante Martin. Takeshita and Briscoe also Broad into the backstage area. Orange Cassidy and Zack Sabre Jr. had a stare-down.

* AEW Tag Team Title Eliminator: The Acclaimed (Max Caster & Anthony Bowens) def. The Young Bucks (Matthew Jackson & Nicholas Jackson)

- Pre-match: Kazuchika Okada was working as a producer backstage and shut off Max Caster's microphone. So there was no pre-match rap.

- Samoa Joe & HOOK, with Katsuyori Shibata are walking backstage where they are going to attack the Premier Athletes in their locker room. They break in but the Premier Athletes saw this coming and instead, there is just a letter challenging them to a six-man tag on Saturday Collision.

- Toni Storm & Mina Shirakawa signed the contract for their AEW Women's World Championship bout at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. Mariah May tried to play peacemaker but Shirakawa would not allow it, demanding that she choose a side. This is interrupted by Harley Cameron and Saraya. They both, along with a newly heel Anna Jay attack the women. Shirakawa runs off with Mariah to protect her while Storm gets put through a table.

* Women's Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament Quarterfinals: Kris Statlander def. Nyla Rose

- After the match, Willow Nightingale appears on the tron and tells Statlander that she plans on winning her first-round match against Serena Deeb this Friday on AEW Rampage and then getting her revenge on Statlander in the semifinals.

- Renee Paquette interviews private party. They're interrupted by Chris Jericho. Chris Jericho gave them the lesson of avoiding piledrivers. Perhaps that will play into their match against Jericho and Big Bill on Saturday.

* Daniel Garcia def. Rhett Titus

- Cage of Agony comes out to jump Garcia. Out comes MJF to make the save. Will Ospreay also comes out to save them. There's a stare-down between Ospreay and Maxwell Jacob Friedman. Ospreay also helps Garcia to his feet.

- Renee Paquette tries to interview Will Ospreay about what just happened but Brian Cage interrupts and as he's being held back by security, an AEW international Championship match is made for Saturday Collision

* Men's Owen Hart Foundation Cup Tournament Quarterfinals: PAC def. Claudio Castagnoli
