AEW Dynamite (8/7/24) Results: MJF vs. Kyle Fletcher, Jeff Jarrett vs. Bryan Danielson, More

On August 7, 2024, All Elite Wrestling hosted a new episode of AEW Dynamite on TBS from the LJVM Coliseum in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.

This week's episode features MJF taking on Kyle Fletcher in an AEW American Title Eliminator Match. Jeff Jarrett will do battle for the first time ever with Bryan Danielson. Fans will also see Mariah May and Katsuyori Shibata compete as AEW continues down the road to Wembley Stadium and AEW All In London.

  • Anything Goes: Bryan Danielson vs. Jeff Jarrett (Ricky Steamboat to be a special guest)
  • AEW American Championship Eliminator Match: MJF vs. Kyle Fletcher

  • Mariah May vs. Viva Van

* AEW American Championship Eliminator Match: MJF def. Kyle Fletcher

- Kyle Fletcher refused to use a screwdriver Don Callis gave him. MJF took advantage of this lapse in judgment, low-blowed Kyle, and won with a Brainbuster. MJF busted Kyle open with his ring. Will Ospreay came out before MJF could hit a Tiger Driver, and as Max scurried, Will comforted Kyle.

- Bryan Danielson vs. Jeff Jarrett vignette airs.

* Mariah May def. Viva Van

- Toni Storm attacked Mariah May after the match. She tried to spike Mariah with the heel of the white shoe that May attacked her with, but officials separated the rivals.

- A Jack Perry vignette airs.

- Darby Allin cuts a promo. He says he would've lit Perry on fire in Blood & Guts, but Perry would have used that as an excuse to skip All In.

* Katsuyori Shibata def. Bryan Keith (w/ Chris Jericho on commentary)

- Big Bill and Chris Jericho attack Shibata. HOOK returns to make the save and send The Learning Tree skedaddling.

- Orange Cassidy promises to fight tonight, although no other Conglomeration members are there. He found "Local boys ready to fight."

- Renee Paquette talks to a very frustrated Hangman Page. Page says he will get justice and get what he wants

- Swerve Strickland speaks w/ Jim Ross about AEW All In. He questions what will happen when Bryan Danielson's body gives out. He promises to beat Danielson and take possession of his legacy.

* Orange Cassidy & FTR (Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler) def. The Beast Mortos & RUSH & Roderick Strong

- The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster) come out to confront FTR. They brawl, and they are separated.

- The Patriarchy (Christian Cage, Mother Wayne, Killswitch, Nick Wayne) was backstage. Cage stated that House of Black and the Bang Bang Gang eagerly await championship opportunities. Therefore, this week on AEW Collision, there will be a #1 Contenders Match for the AEW World Trios Titles, followed by a match against The Patriarchy at All In. Cage will serve as the Collision match's special referee.

- A Hologram vignette airs.

* Handicap Match: Kamille (w/ Mercedes Mone) def. Jazmyne Hao & Clara Carter

- Mone cut a promo on Britt Baker. She's interrupted by Tony Schiavone. Tony says that Tony Khan lifted Baker's suspension and threw it to the video wall, where she cut a promo via satellite. Baker says she will be the first woman to defeat Mercedes when they face off at Wembley Stadium.

- A Danielson vs. Strickland video package is shown.

- A video package recaps Claudio Castagnoli earning a shot at the AEW Continental Championship. It's still unknown when he will get the title shot, but he will come face-to-face with Kazuchika Okada next week.

* Anything Goes: Bryan Danielson def. Jeff Jarrett

- Danielson and Jarrett show each other respect after the match. Swerve Strickland comes out to cut a promo in Danielson's face and says he will also face competition next week when he takes on Wheeler Yuta. Yuta, who came out to celebrate with Danielson after the match, accepted the challenge, and there was a staredown.
