After weeks of competition, Dragon Gate has a new King of Gate winner.
In the finals of the tournament, Eita defeated Naruki Doi to become the winner of the 2020 edition of the tournament.
The tournament was held under unique circumstances, with all matches taking place in an empty arena setting with no fans allowed due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The tournament was held with 24 competitors split into three eight-man groups with the winners of each group advancing to the semifinals.
Eita's journey to the finals was through this route with him winning the C Block with wins over Strong Machine J, Ben-K and Dragon Dia. Doi's journey to the finals was different, however, was different. Eliminated early from the tournament, Doi won a second chance battle royal to become the fourth semifinalist.
