MLW Fusion Results for 1/6/21 Hammerstone Retains, New Middleweight Champion Crowned

Hey Fight Fans, it's time for tonight's special edition of MLW Fusion with Kings of Colosseum!

- We open tonight's show with a video package for our main event with an MLW National Openweight title match between the champion Alex Hammerstone and the challenger Mads Krügger of Contra Unit.

MLW World Tag Team Championship Bunk House Match

The Von Erichs (c) vs The Dirty Blondes w/Aria Blake

The four brawl before Marshall is sent out of the ring and Leo and Michael double up on Ross before Marshall comes back in and the Von Erichs clear the ring. The four men end up outside of the building where they hit each other with steel chairs and folding lawn chairs before they end up back inside the arena and back at ringside. Ross and Leo get into the ring where Aria low blows Ross and jumps on his back. The Von Erichs then send Aria out of the ring and hit an assisted Von Erich Claw slam for the pin and the win.

Winner: The Von Erichs retain their MLW World Tag Team titles by defeating The Dirty Blondes via pinfall.

- We get a taped promo by Tom Lawlor outside in front of a brick wall where he briefly talks about winning the 2020 Opera Cup and Filthy Island.

- We get a video package promo by Lio Rush ahead of his upcoming Middleweight Championship match against Myron Reed as we go to commercial.

- We come back to this week's PWI top ten with Low Ki at number three, Tom Lawlor at two and Alex Hammerstone at number one.

- We get a tale of the tape for the two competitors in the Middleweight Championship match up next. 

MLW World Middleweight Championship Match

Myron Reed (c) w/Jordan Oliver vs Lio Rush

Myron stuffs a single leg by Lio before wrenching his arm and the two exchange arm wringers before the two grapple on the mat. Lio mocks Myron and shoves him away before countering a fireman's carry into a pin attempt for two before countering a full nelson. Lio drops Myron with a back elbow before kicking him in the chest protector and sends Myron through the ropes before hitting a rolling kick that knocks him off of the apron. Back in the ring Lio kicks Myron in the back before taking his back with both hooks in before cross facing Myron and ripping at his face and nose. Lio counters a Golden Rewind for two before stomping him in the corner and hitting a back suplex for two before Myron drives Lio into the corner when he takes his back.

Myron comes back and drops Lio repeatedly before hitting a slingshot Code Breaker that sends Lio out of the ring before hitting a diving cross body to the outside. Back in the ring Myron hits a springboard uppercut for two before Lio gets two off of a sunset flip and no sells a German suplex. Myron plants Lio with a half nelson suplex and superkicks him for a near fall before Lio hits an enzuigiri that knocks Myron off of the apron. Lio hits an asai moonsault before rolling Myron back inside for a near fall before Lio calls for his finisher and the two run the ropes. Myron counters Lio in midair with a stunner before the two exchange strikes until Myron drops Lio with an enzuigiri.

Myron hits a cutter over the top rope and onto the floor before rolling Lio back inside and missing a 450 before Lio hits a Golden Rewind. Lio then pins Myron with the Final Hour for the win.

Winner: Lio Rush defeats Myron Reed via pinfall to become the new MLW World Middleweight champion.

- Backstage Lio cuts a promo after his victory where he lists off his various accolades including, but not limited to his musical career.

- Alex Hammerstone is interviewed backstage ahead of his title defense before Contra Unit cuts in and Josef Samael says that Mads will bring the Openweight title to Contra as we go to commercial.

- Backstage Myron Reed is interviewed about his losing his title before he and Jordan Oliver are attacked and laid out by Jacob Fatu and Contra Unit.

MLW World Openweight Championship Match

Alex Hammerstone (c) vs Mads Krügger

Alex attacks Mads at ringside before the match before they get inside and Alex punches and stomps Mads in the corner. Alex elbows Mads in the side of the head before Mads sends Alex off of the apron and down onto the floor before beating on Alex at ringside. Mads drops Alex face first across the apron before rolling him back inside and lays into Alex with digging punches to the midsection. Mads whips Alex across the ring and hits a running splash in the corner before Alex dodges a running boot and hits a German suplex. Alex chops Mads and hits a flying clothesline before hitting a running clothesline in the corner and a boot into a fall away slam for two.

Alex calls for the Nightmare Pendulum before Mads counters and beats Alex in the corner before tossing him over the top rope and out of the ring. Mads and Alex then end up on the wooden stage where the two exchange strikes as the referee calls for the bell.

Winner: Alex Hammerstone retains his MLW World Openweight Championship due to no contest.
