WWE NXT Takeover: Chicago Results NXT Championship Match, Tommaso Ciampa and Johnny Gargano in a Chicago Street Fight

NXT Tag Team Championship Match 

Rob Van Dam Comments On Whether A Wrestling Offseason Would Work

Undisputed Era (c) vs Oney Lorcan & Danny Burch

Strong and Lorcan start the match off, Oney dropping Roderick with a European uppercut before tagging Danny in, but Strong immediately backs Danny into his corner and tags Kyle in. They exchange strikes before Burch and Lorcan double team Kyle and clothesline him over the top rope. Kyle regroups with Adam and Roderick at ringside before Oney gets distracted by Strong and Kyle kicks his leg out from under him. Danny tags back in and he and Oney hit a double dropkick before Danny hits a missile dropkick. Strong gets the tag and hits a wrecking ball dropkick through the ropes, then sends Danny into the LED board before rolling him back into the ring.

Kyle comes back in and locks in a kneebar, Kyle just using it to keep Danny in place as he tags Roderick back in. Strong hits a backbreaker for a quick two count before UE double team Burch and Kyle locks in an armbar that he himself lets go of. Strong comes in once more and hire a dropkick for a quick two count before Danny hits a back drop and Strong tags in Kyle. Kyle boots Oney off of the apron, but he's quickly back up and Danny tags him in, Oney dropping both of the Undisputed Era members and sending them out of the ring. Oney hits a flipping senton over the top rope and onto Strong and O'Reilly at ringside before Oney hits a double blockbuster and Burch hits a DDT for a very close near fall.

Kyle sends Oney off of the top and onto the apron on his back as he falls onto the floor. Kyle locks in an armbar, but Danny manages to get to the bottom rope right before he taps, then Danny clears the ring before Oney hits a double blockbuster off of the apron. Adam gets ejected when he drags Kyle out of the ring before Oney powers out of a guillotine by Kyle and Danny and Oney lock in a double submission before all four men brawl in the center of the ring. Undisputed Era then hit Lorcan with Total Elimination for the pin and the win.

Winner: Undisputed Era retain their NXT Tag Team Championship by defeating Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan when they hit Lorcan with Total Elimination. 

Ricochet vs Velveteen Dream ​​​​​​

They go toe to toe to dueling chants before locking up for a clean break, Dream mocking Ricochet before Ricochet puts Dream in a head scissor that he gets out of twice. Dream drops Ricochet with a shoulder block before Ricochet lands on his feet when Dream goes for a huricanrrana. Ricochet goes for a springboard move, but Dream hits the ropes and Ricochet comes down throat first across the top rope and to the floor. Dream puts Ricochet back into the ring and beats on him before dropping him throat first across the top rope and hitting a slingshot senton. Dream hits a neckbreaker for a quick two count before shoving Ricochet through the ropes and onto the floor, Dream immediately hitting a flipping senton and rolling him back into the ring for a quick two count.

Dream drops Ricochet with a forearm before Ricochet hits a knee that drops Dream and dropkicks him out of the ring. Ricochet hits a tope through the ropes and a corkscrew moonsault before hitting a 619 and a springboard European uppercut for a quick two count. Ricochet hits a jumping neckbreaker into a standing shooting star press for a quick two count, then Dream catches him up top and Dream hits an avalanche rolling DVD for a near fall. Dream catches Ricochet up top again and hits a superplex off of the apron and to the floor before Ricochet gets back in at the count of nine. Dream hits another rolling DVD for a very close fall, then they exchange strikes until Dream hits yet another rolling DVD for a very close near fall.

Dream yells at Ricochet before Ricochet hits dream with his own finisher and mocks him before hitting him with his own Purple Rainmaker elbow drop for a near fall. Ricochet hits a standing moonsault halfway across the ring, but Dream gets his knees up and misses a Purple Rainmaker from one corner to the other. Ricochet then hits a 630 senton for the pin and the win.

Winner: Ricochet defeats Velveteen Dream via pinfall with a 630 senton.

NXT Women's Championship Match 

Shayna Baszler (c) vs Nikki Cross 

Nikki rushes at Shayna on all fours which causes her to back into the ropes, then Nikki jumps on her back and locks in a rear naked choke. Shayna gets Nikki off of her and locks in one of her own, but Nikki quickly backs her into the corner, then they go to the outside and Nikki tries to choke Shayna again, but Shayna drops her onto the ramp. Shayna rolls Nikki back into the ring and drops her with a knee for a quick two count before beating on her in mount and playing to the crowd. Nikki tries to come back with a series of forearms, but Shayna drops her with a series of knees to the face before Nikki counters the Kirifuda Clutch into a back suplex. Nikki stomps on Shayna in the corner before hitting a diving cross body for a quick two count.

Nikki hits a reverse DDT on the apron before rolling Shayna back into the ring for a near fall before Shayna drops her with yet another knee for a quick two count. They then grapple before Shayna locks in the Kirifuda Clutch with a body scissor and Nikki passes out and the referee calls for the bell.

Winner: Shayna Baszler defeats Nikki Cross via referee stoppage and retains her NXT Women's Championship when she chokes Nikki unconscious. 

NXT Championship Match

Aleister Black (c) vs Lars Sullivan ​​​​

They exchange strikes before countering each other's finishers and Black sends Lars out of the ring before hitting a meteora off of the apron. They get back in the ring and Aleister drops Lars with a jumping knee for a quick two count before Lars sends Aleister out of the ring by running into him. Aleister sends Lars shoulder first into the ring post before Black goes for a moonsault and Lars catches him before dropping him face first onto the apron and sends him into the barricade. They get back in the ring and Lars hits a running splash in the corner for a quick two count before Lars slams him to the mat for a quick two count. Lars hits a pop-up powerslam for a near fall before Black catches him up top, but Lars drops him with a lariat before hitting a diving headbutt, Black getting a knee up, but Black still taking the brunt of it.

Black comes back with a series of strikes and a roundhouse kick into a springboard moonsault for a near fall. Aleister counters the Freak Accident into a DDT before Lars hits a pop-up powerslam onto the apron and hits a diving headbutt for a very close near fall once he rolls him back into the ring. Black hits a grazing Black Mass kick for a near fall before Lars catches the second and hits a lariat that turns him inside out. Black then hits a knee into the Black Mass, but Lars gets up to his knees almost instantly before Aleister finishes him with a third Black Mass for the pin and the win.

Winner: Aleister Black defends his NXT Championship when he defeats Lars Sullivan via pinfall with the Black Mass kick.

Chicago Street Fight Match 

Tommaso Ciampa vs Johnny Gargano ​​​​​

They duel with crutches to start the match before Johnny clotheslines Ciampa over the top rope and tosses him over the announce table. They go into the crowd and brawl before Johnny lays out a stop sign on Ciampa, then Johnny jumps off of a platform and hits a diving cross body. Johnny tosses Ciampa back over the barricade and he rolls back into the ring as Johnny brings in a trash can and several lids. Ciampa hits a back suplex before hitting several German suplexes, then Johnny hits a release suplex that sends Ciampa out of the ring. Johnny hits a tope through the ropes and sends Ciampa into the ring steps before Ciampa drops him with a running knee when he is busy looking underneath the ring.

Ciampa sends Johnny into the barricade before putting a chair around his head and sends him into the ring steps. Ciampa hits Johnny with a trash can before throwing it at his head, then Ciampa rolls Johnny back into the ring and chokes him with his shirt. Ciampa stomps Johnny in the corner before hitting a slingshot they sends Johnny face and neck first into the bottom turnbuckle. Ciampa gets handcuffs and cuffs one wrist of Gargano before Johnny hits a slingshot spear through the ropes. Johnny takes his belt off and whips Ciampa before wrapping it around his hand and hitting him with it.

Johnny puts the trashcan on Ciampa before superkicking him, then Ciampa comes back and sends the trash can lid into the side of the head of Johnny when he hits him with a knee. Ciampa hits a variation of the Gravy Train onto the steps for a near fall, then cuts the ropes holding the mat on before pulling up the mat and the padding underneath it, exposing the wood. Ciampa hits Johnny with a chair before setting him on the top turnbuckle, but Johnny counters and hits a cheeky nandos in the corner. They exchange right hands and kicks until Johnny drops Ciampa with the trashcan lod for a very close near fall, then hits with with another one when he goes for a slingshot move to the outside. Ciampa misses a running knee into the ring steps before he rolls back into the ring and Johnny starts hitting it with a chair.

Ciampa kicks Johnny away and sends him into the trash can in the corner before locking in the Gargano Escape, trying to submit Johnny with his own submission before dropping him with a running knee to the side of the head. Ciampa hits Johnny in the neck with the crutch for a very close near fall before tossing him out of the ring, then drags him up the ramp before sending him into the LED board on the stage and hits a running knee. Ciampa then takes off the wedding ring of Gargano before spitting on it and throwing it away, then Gargano hits Ciampa with his own finisher off of a bunch of equipment and through a table. Johnny then drags Ciampa on a stretcher down to the ring before beating on him and tossing him back into the ring. Johnny locks in the Gargano Escape until security try to pull him off, but he knocks them away before handcuffing Ciampa and superkicking him repeatedly.

Johnny then locks in the Gargano Escape again before he's dragged out of the ring only for him to get right back in, but Ciampa DDT's him as soon as he does onto the exposed wood for the pin and the win.

Winner: Tommaso Ciampa defeats Johnny Gargano via pinfall with a draping DDT.
