- The show starts off with a ten bell salute for the late Bruno Sammartino, followed by a video package about Sammartino.
- WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar & Paul Heyman make their way to the ring, Heyman grabs a microphone and he does his usual introduction. Heyman says Lesnar conquers will Heyman will gloat about his win at ‘Mania 34, Heyman talks about what Lesnar did to Roman Reigns at ‘Mania 34. Heyman says Lesnar looks forward to facing Reigns in a steel cage match at the Greatest Royal Rumble event, Heyman promises that Lesnar will shred Reigns up in the cage match. Reigns interrupts and he makes his way to the ring, Reigns has a microphone and he says that he will win the title at the Greatest Royal Rumble.
- Elias is shown walking backstage.
- Elias is in the ring and he gets interrupted by Bobby Roode before he can even speak.
Elias vs. Bobby Roode
The match begins with Elias applying a headlock to Roode, Elias then drops Roode with a shoulder tackle before eating a back elbow strike. Roode traps Elias in the corner before a chopping exchange breaks out, Roode tweaks his knee after a leap off the middle rope. Roode catches Elias with an atomic drop for a near fall, Roode starts working over the arm of Elias. Elias gets free from Roode and he drops him with a forearm strike, Elias traps Roode in the ropes while landing some chops. Roode recovers and he knocks Elias out of the ring with a clothesline as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Elias backing Roode in the corner before eating some chops.
Elias then nails a ducking Roode with a kick to the face before throwing him into the ring post, Elias holds Roode down while applying the nerve hold. Roode gets free and Elias mauls him with strikes in the corner, Elias rolls to the arena floor before smashing Roode with a running knee strike for a near fall. Elias slows things down further by holding Roode in a chin lock, Roode gets free after he nails Elias with a back suplex. Roode then catches Elias with a series of strikes before landing some clotheslines, Roode then hits Elias with a neck breaker before landing a top rope clothesline. Roode goes for a Glorious DDT and he winds up catching Elias in a roll up for a near fall, Roode then hits Elias with a blockbuster.
Elias rolls out of the ring and Roode gets him in the ring, Elias trips up Roode in the ropes before rolling him up for a three count.

- Matt Hardy appears on the screen and he says that he will become the new WWE Raw Tag Team Champions alongside Bray Wyatt, Wyatt appears and he says they will encast a shadow over all living things.
The Ascension (Konnor & Viktor) vs. Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt
The match begins with Viktor applying a headlock to Hardy, Wyatt scares Viktor so Hardy can nail him with a Russian leg sweep. Wyatt tags in and he double teams Viktor alongside Hardy, Viktor gets free and he tags Konnor into the match. Wyatt quickly drops Konnor with a clothesline before tagging Hardy back in, Hardy looks for a Twist Of Fate and Konnor backs him into the corner. Viktor tags in and he stomps away on Hardy alongside Konnor, Konnor tags back into nail Hardy with an elbow drop for a near fall. Viktor tags in and he applies the chin lock to Hardy, Hardy recovers and he tags Wyatt into the match. Wyatt quickly cleans house on the opposing team, Hardy tags in and he nails Viktor with a Side Effect for a near fall. Konnor hits the ring and Wyatt nails him with Sister Abigail, Wyatt and Hardy hit Viktor with a super Twist Of fate for a three count.
Winners: Matt Hardy & Bray Wyatt
- Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens come to the ring for the first edition of the Sami & Kevin Show, they both say a few words and mock Kurt Angle’s entrance music before introducing Angle. Angle wasn’t very impressed by their rendition of his theme song, Owens and Zayn talk about the toxic work environment they endured on Smackdown Live. Angle knows that Stephanie McMahon hates him for the whole Ronda Rousey situation, Owens and Zayn mock Angle not knowing that Jason Jordan was his son for so long. Angle reminds them both about how they will be in the Greatest Royal Rumble match against all the people they have screwed over in the past, Angle then announces Zayn & Owens vs. Braun Strowman & Bobby Lashley for tonight.
- Seth Rollins is in the locker room when he is approached by Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel, they want to become a new version of The Shield with Rollins. Rollins turns them down and walks away.
Titus Worldwide (Titus O’Neil & Apollo Crews) w/Dana Brooke vs. Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler
The match begins with O’Neil throwing Ziggler in the corner before landing a few strikes, Crews tags in and he nails Ziggler with a clothesline. Crews then hits Ziggler with a standing moonsault for a near fall, Ziggler fights back and McIntyre tags into the match. McIntyre traps Crews in the corner before landing a few chops, McIntyre would then propel Crews across the ring. Ziggler tags in and he nails Crews with a super kick before McIntyre nails him with a reverse Alabama Slam, McIntyre tags in and he works with Ziggler to hit Crews with a Claymore/Zig Zag combo for a three count.
Winners: Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler
- After the match, Charly Caruso interviews the winners and Dolph Ziggler says Drew McIntyre has his back, McIntyre calls the Raw locker room soft and he is sickened by it. McIntyre says times are changing because he is the wake up call and reality check the WWE needs, Ziggler calls them both the show before leaving the ring.
- Raw GM Kurt Angle is backstage when Chad Gable arrives, Gable thanks Angle for the opportunity to be on Raw. Jinder Mahal arrives to complain about losing the WWE United States Title to Jeff Hardy last week, Gable defends Angle and Mahal mocks him. Gable shoves Mahal and Angle tells them they have a match tonight.
- Jinder Mahal attacks Chad Gable before he even gets in the ring for their match, Mahal throws Gable into the barricade before getting him in the ring. Mahal stomps away on Gable before the referee separates them.
Jinder Mahal w/Sunil Singh vs. Chad Gable
The match begins with Gable nailing Mahal with some strikes in the corner, Mahal recovers and he kicks Gable in the face. Gable rolls through a Mahal slam before sending him out of the ring, Mahal drops Gable with a clothesline on the arena floor as we go to a commercial break. We return from the break to see Mahal holding Gable in a modified camel clutch. Mahal releases the hold to nail Gable with a suplex for a near fall, Mahal then stomps away on a downed Gable. Gable tries fighting back and Mahal quickly drops him, Mahal then catches Gable with an Irish whip into the corner. Mahal follows that up by applying a chin lock to Gable, Mahal then chokes Gable on the middle rope.
Gable recovers and he nails a charging Mahal with a rolling kick to the head, Gable then attacks the leg of a downed Mahal. Mahal recovers and he drops Gable on the top rope before landing a running knee strike, Mahal goes for his finisher and Gable catches him in a roll up for the three count.
Winner: Chad Gable
- Renee Young interviews the Riott Squad, Ruby Riott says that they attacked Bayley and Sasha Banks last week to send a message to the whole women’s division. Liv Morgan says the Riott Squad is here to take over, Sarah Logan says that hurt prey is the easiest to catch.
- Samoa Joe cuts a selfie promo, Joe doesn’t believe that Roman Reigns can beat Brock Lesnar at the Greatest Royal Rumble, Joe doesn’t even think Reigns will show up at WWE Backlash.
- Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas are in the locker room and they are talking to Finn Balor about being a part of the Balor Club, Balor turns them down.
- Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn are shown walking backstage.
Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn vs. Bobby Lashley & Braun Strowman
The match begins with Strowman attacking his opponents on the arena floor before throwing Zayn into the barricade, Owens is thrown in the ring and hit with a neck breaker by Lashley. Lashley follows that up by nailing Owens with strikes and a spear in the corner, Owens catches Lashley with a kick before tagging Zayn in. Zayn attacks Lashley with a bunch of strikes in the corner, Lashley fights back and he nails Zayn with a suplex. Lashley backs Zayn into the corner while landing elbow strikes, Zayn recovers and drops a charging Lashley with a boot to the face. Owens tags in and he attacks Lashley with a bunch of strikes, Lashley recovers to knock Owens out of the ring before nailing Zayn with a cross body. Lashley then catches Zayn with another spear in the corner, Owens causes Lashley to fall out of the ring.
Owens hits Lashley with a senton on the arena floor as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Zayn nailing Lashley with chops in the corner. Lashley recovers to nail Zayn with an overhead belly to belly suplex, Owens tags in and he prevents Lashley from tagging Strowman in. Lashley gets his knees up as Owens attempts a senton bomb, Zayn tags in and he stops Lashley from tagging Strowman in. Zayn applies the chin lock to a weakened Lashley, Lashley gets free and Owens drags Strowman to the arena floor. Lashley attacks Zayn and Owens before tagging Strowman in, Strowman destroys Owens with a shoulder tackle on the arena floor. Strowman then hits Zayn with a clothesline in the ring, Strowman goes back out of the ring to hit Owens with another shoulder tackle.
Strowman drops Zayn again before nailing Owens with a drop kick on the arena floor, Zayn tries running away and Lashley gets him back in the ring. Strowman drops Zayn with a single blow before landing an avalanche in the corner, Lashley tags in as Strowman tosses Zayn across the ring. Lashley then hits Zayn with a delayed vertical suplex, Strowman tags in and he nails Zayn with a running power slam for a three count.
Winners: Bobby Lashley & Braun Strowman
- Baron Corbin comes out with a microphone in hand, Corbin says there are people planted in No way Jose’s conga line that will attack him when he gets in the ring. Corbin then says that Jose isn’t on his level and there will be no match as long as the conga line is around. Jose says the party doesn’t have to stop and the music plays as the conga line continues. Corbin eventually attacks Jose from behind, Corbin would then throw Jose into the LED screen before kicking him in the head. Corbin then hits Jose with a choke breaker to end the massacre.
- A Moment Of Bliss airs, which is Alexa Bliss speaking out against alleged bullying from Nia Jax.
Finn Balor & Seth Rollins vs. The Miztourage (Curtis Axel & Bo Dallas)
The match begins with Dallas applying the headlock to Balor, Balor gets free and Dallas drops him with a shoulder tackle. Axel tags in and he also drops Balor with a shoulder tackle, Axel then hits Balor with a back elbow strike before eating a drop kick. Balor wrenches away on the arm of Axel before eating a punch to the head, Axel traps Balor in the ropes before ripping away on his face. Dallas tags in and he nails Balor with multiple knee drops, Dallas slows things down by holding Balor in a chin lock. Balor gets free after nailing Dallas with a jaw breaker followed by an overhead kick, Axel and Rollins get the tag from their respective partners.
Rollins attacks Axel with a springboard clothesline followed by a sling blade, Rollins knocks Axel out of the ring before taking out both opponents with a suicide dive. Rollins gets Axel in the ring before landing a blockbuster, Dallas interferes and Rollins nails him with a super kick. Rollins hits Axel with a curb stomp before taking out Dallas, Balor tags in and he lands a Cupe De Grace for the three count.

- Natalya is shown talking with her teammates backstage, Ember Moon says the Riott Squad will ahve to look over their shoulders tonight. Nia Jax says that what Alexa Bliss did to her was bad for her health, Sasha Banks and Bayley have a stare down.
Nia Jax, Ember Moon, Natalya, Sasha Banks & Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss, Mickie James & The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott, Liv Morgan & Sarah Logan)
The match begins with Morgan tagging Logan in before double teaming Banks, Logan mounts Banks before grinding her face. Logan then hits Banks with knee strikes before eating a knee strike from her, Banks traps Logan in the corner before landing a double knee strike. Banks holds Logan down while wrenching away on her arm, Logan gets Banks in the corner before tagging Morgan in. Banks drops Morgan before landing a slap for a near fall, Banks wrenches away on the arm of Morgan before tagging Moon in. Moon corners Morgan before landing a rolling forearm strike, Moon then hits Morgan with a springboard cross body for a near fall.
Morgan is knocked out of the ring and Moon takes her out with a suicide dive as we go to a commercial break, we return from the break to see Logan holding banks down in a cobra clutch. Banks gets free and Logan prevents her from making the tag, James tags in and she attacks Banks with kicks in the corner. James slows things down further by holding Banks in a chin lock, Banks gets free and James nails her with a knee strike. James reapplies the chin lock to a downed Banks, Banks gets free and she tags Natalya into the match. Natalya nails James with a clothesline followed by a few suplexes, Natalya drops James before landing a basement drop kick. Natalya looks for the sharp shooter and Logan breaks it up, Bayley tags in and James knocks Natalya out of the ring.
Riott tags in and Bayley takes her down with a suplex, Riott recovers and she drops Bayley with an STO for a near fall. Riott slows things down again by holding Bayley in a chin lock, Bayley gets Riott in the corner before tagging Jax in. Jax corners Riott before nailing her with an avalanche, Jax catches Riott with a press slam followed by a leg drop for a near fall. A brawl breaks out between both teams and it spills to the arena floor, Jax then leaps off of the ring apron onto all the competitors. James then hits an injured Natalya with a baseball slide drop kick, James continues attacking the injured knee of Natalya until Ronda Rousey comes out.
Rousey goes to help Natalya and James nails her with a drop kick, Rousey gets in the ring and she applies the arm bar to James as the referee calls for the bell to signify a DQ.
