On December 15, 2023, WWE hosted a new episode of Friday Night SmackDown on Fox.

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns returning to the blue brand headlined the show. Live results & highlights are listed below.

WWE SmackDown (12/15/2023).

  • Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns (w/ Solo Sikoa, Jimmy Uso & Paul Heyman) made his WWE return, saying it was promotion season. Reigns told Jimmy Uso to join him in congratulating his brother, Solo Sikoa for his promotion as Tribal Hier. They were immediately interrupted by Randy Orton before the commercial break.
    Back from the break, Randy Orton finally got in the ring and challenged Reigns for a shot at the title to get his revenge on Reigns after he & The Bloodline injured him 18 months ago, but Reigns told him to get back of the line. Orton put over Reigns for evolving to Legend Status, but Orton said he was still the Legend Killer. Orton went for an RKO on Reigns, but Reigns evaded.
  • There was a video package highlighting Carmelo Hayes ahead of his match against Grayson Waller tonight.
  • WWE United States Championship Contender Tournament - First Round Match: Carmelo Hayes def. Grayson Waller.
  • LA Knight met with Randy Orton backstage. Orton asked if LA Knight could help him deal with The Bloodline. Knight said that it was fine, but did say that the only one who would take everything from Reigns was him.
  • WWE United States Championship Contender Tournament - First Round Match: Kevin Owens def. Austin Theory.
  • Roman Reigns ranted about Randy Orton getting involved in Bloodline business. Jimmy said that Sikoa could handle Orton, but Reigns told Uso to get involved because there could be a promotion for him along the way.
  • Karrion Kross & Scarlett had a vignette, where he said that a new beginning was coming for him.
  • Cameron Grimes congratulated Kevin Owens backstage before Owens was interviewed by Kayla Braxton. Owens put over Carmelo Hayes, but Hayes interrupted and told him that he was there to win the tournament.
  • Damage CTRL (Bayley, Asuka, Dakota Kai, Kairi Sane & WWE Women's Champion Iyo Sky) had a vignette detailing their dominance in WWE, saying that it was time to raise the bar & change the game. They promised to take over everything in WWE, starting with The Kabuki Warriors winning the Women's Tag Titles & Bayley winning the 2024 Women's Royal Rumble and winning the Women's World Title off Rhea Ripley.
  • Damage CTRL's Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) (w/ Dakota Kai & Bayley) def. Zelina Vega & "Michin" Mia Yim.
  • There was a video package of Santos Escobar. Escobar promised to win the United States Title Tourney and the title he gifted to Logan Paul from him.
  • Bobby Lashley cut a promo, where he said that he was the only man in the tournament that he could not beat.
  • Randy Orton def. Jimmy Uso.
    • Solo Sikoa tried to get involved, but LA Knight laid him out during the match. The Bloodline attacked Knight & Orton after the match, but AJ Styles made his WWE Return and laid out Reigns. Orton, Styles & Knight stood tall until Styles laid out Knight with a lariat. The Bloodline & Orton were bamboozled by Styles's attack as he headed to the back to end the broadcast.
