WWE SmackDown (9/8/2023) Results: Jimmy Uso vs AJ Styles, Damage CTRL, Judgment Day & More Appear

On September 8, 2023, WWE hosted a new episode of Friday Night SmackDown on FOX.

The show was headlined by Jimmy Uso going one-on-one against AJ Styles and Damage CTRL's Bayley & Iyo Sky teaming against Charlotte Flair & Shotzi. Full results are listed below.

WWE SmackDown (9/8/2023).

  • Charlotte Flair & Shotzi def. Damage CTRL (Iyo Sky & Bayley) (w/ Dakota Kai).
    • Asuka made her WWE Return to steal Sky's championship, which caused enough of a distraction to allow Flair & Shotzi to pick up the win.
  • AJ Styles spoke with Paul Heyman backstage, but Styles was attacked from behind by Jimmy Uso ahead of their match later in the night. After the attack, Heyman called Roman Reigns.
  • Damage CTRL (Bayley, Dakota Kai & Iyo Sky) we're interviewed backstage by Kayla Braxton, where Bayley stated that Asuka should keep her distance or they would put her on the shelf like Bianca Belair.
  • LA Knight came tot he ring to cut a promo addressing his win against The Miz at Backlash, but was interrupted by Grayson Waller & Austin Theory. Knight verbally ran down on Theory before transitioning into their match.
  • LA Knight def. Austin Theory (w/ Grayson Waller).
  • AJ Styles was interviewed backstage. Styles said that despite Jimmy Uso's attack, he was still standing and still willing to "rip" Uso's head off in their match later in the night.
  • Paul Heyman demanded Adam Pearce to tell him who was drafted to SmackDown, but Pearce refused to answer before LA Knight confronted Pearce to demand a rematch against The Miz next week, which Pearce granted. After that, Heyman formally introduced himself to Knight before telling him to knock on the door the next time someone tells him Heyman was in the room.
  • Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest & Dominik Mysterio) cut an in-ring promo, with Priest & Balor bragging about beating Sami Zayn & Kevin Owens to win the WWE Tag Team Championships. The Brawling Brutes (Butch & Ridge Holland) interrupted them, with Holland saying that despite him enjoying breaking little fellas like Judgment Day, it was Butch who they should worry about. The two teams brawled ahead of their match after the commercial break.
  • Judgment Day (Finn Balor & Damian Priest) (w/ Dominik Mysterio) def. Brawling Brutes (Butch & Ridge Holland).
  • After the match, Bobby Lashley & The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montex Ford) came to the ring to confront Judgment Day. Lashely said that the Bloodline was crumbling, but he & the Profits would be the ones taking over.
  • The OC (Luke Gallows, "Michin" Mia Yim & "The Machine Gun" Karl Anderson) were backstage before AJ Styles confronted them for not protecting him from Jimmy Uso earlier in the night. Styles told them that if they were going to be like this, he did not want them anywhere near them during his match against Jimmy later in the night.
  • Asuka cut a promo backstage, where she promised that she would regain the WWE Women's Championship out of Iyo Sky in two weeks.
  • AJ Styles def. Jimmy Uso.
    • Solo Sikoa & Paul Heyman watch ed the match from ringside. After the match, Damian Priest & Finn Balor attacked Styles before sending him back into the ring, allowing Sikoa to hit a Samoan Spike on Styless to end the broadcast.
