Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight's edition of WWE Smackdown on FOX!
- Backstage Roman talks with Jey as Jimmy makes his out to the ring to Roman's surprise before saying that Roman got he and his brother disqualified in their tag title rematch last week on purpose before calling Roman jealous and that he sees through Roman's mind games and that he knows Roman is trying to tear Jey away from him. Jimmy then says that tonight he promises that he's going to do something that he won't regret before leaving as Roman tells Jey to take care of Jimmy as Jey leaves.
- Backstage Jimmy talks with Jey before Jimmy gives Jey an ultimatum and that he needs to pick him over Roman and that Roman is a disgrace before Jey blames Jimmy on being injured for a year as the reason for why he sided with Roman. Jimmy then tells Jey that if Roman wants to see him, he'll be in their locker room.
Kevin Owens & Big E vs Apollo Crews (w/ Commander Azeez) & Sami Zayn
Kevin goes right after Sami on the apron before dropping Apollo and going back out after Sami before he gets back inside and Apollo stomps him once he rolls back inside before Apollo and Sami isolate Kevin until he gets the hot tag to E who suplexes Apollo and knocks Sami off of the apron. E goes for a jumping splash, but Apollo gets his knees up before E hits a uranage for two before Apollo rocks him with an enzuigiri and hits a dead-lift German for two before E goes for his signature spear through the ropes and Apollo gets out of the way before E goes through the ropes and down onto the floor as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Apollo in control of E back in the ring before Apollo misses a diving cross body and tags in KO who takes Sami down and beats on him in mount before stomping him in the corner and Sami rolls out of the ring before hitting a cannonball off of the apron and a running senton at ringside. Back in the ring Kevin hits a running clothesline in the corner into a cannonball before hitting a Swanton Bomb for two before hitting a Apollo with a superkick into a pop-up powerbomb for a near fall that Sami breaks up before E and Apollo end up at ringside and Kevin pins Sami with a stunner for the win.
Winner: Kevin Owens and Big E defeat Sami Zayn and Apollo Crews via pinfall.
- After the match Apollo issues a rematch for next week between Kevin and E and Apollo and Azeez rather than Sami before Sami accuses Apollo of being a fraud and setting him up before Azeez lays him out.
- Backstage Adam Pearce talks with Rey Mysterio off mic as we go to commercial.
- Backstage Chad apologizes to Street Profits for what Otis did to them last week before Chad challenges them to a singles match and Montez steps up before they agree to come to the ring alone.
- In the locker room Roman stands up when Jey comes back in and demands Jey tell him where Jimmy is before Jey relays the message Jimmy gave him to tell Roman before Roman tells Jey to go tell Jimmy that he's coming to him.
Carmella vs Liv Morgan
Liv goes right after Carmella and punches and stomps her in the corner before they end up at ringside and Carmella sends Liv into the apron and the barricade before tossing Liv back inside and choking her in the corner before hitting back elbows and forearms before beating on her in mount and covering her for two. Liv then launches Carmella face first into the middle turnbuckle before Carmella catches her with a boot and Liv dodges a superkick before hitting what she calls Oblivion for the pin and the win.
Winner: Liv Morgan defeats Carmella via pinfall.
- Seth Rollins joins tonight's edition of Ding Dong, Hello! before he's attacked by Cesaro after they laugh hysterically at videos of Seth attacking Cesaro and Bayley freaking out Bianca Belair when Seth answers the door before Cesaro throws Seth out of the ring before Bianca comes out and laughs at Bayley.
- Rey is interviewed backstage as he says that he's going to get revenge on Roman for attacking his son and that he's going to the ring and going to call Roman out.
Montez Ford vs Chad Gable
The two lock up repeatedly before Chad takes the high-flyer Montez down onto the mat and controls him until Montez gets to his feet and hits a deep arm drag into a straight arm bar before Chad backs him into the corner and drops him with right hands in the corner. Chad then locks in an ankle lock before Montez gets to his feet and turns it into a pin for a deep two count before sending Chad out of the ring and hits a cannonball off of the apron and onto Chad onto the floor as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Chad countering a slingshot into a bridging pin for two before they run at each other with cross bodies as Otis attacks Angelo backstage before Montez drops Chad and hits a high angle frog splash for the pin and the win.
Winner: Montez Ford defeats Chad Gable via pinfall.
- Otis comes out after the match and attacks Montez before sending him into the steps and hitting a front slam before hitting a diving splash off of the second rope before hitting a Vader bomb and Angelo comes out and lies over Montez as officials and agents get between SP and Otis as we go to commercial.
Shinsuke Nakamura vs Baron Corbin
Shin drops Baron and hits Good Vibrations in the corner before hitting a kick and a diving Kinshasa for two before Baron hits Deep Six when Shin goes for a Kinshasa for two before sending Shin into the post and Shin pins baron out of nowhere with a clutch.
Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura defeats Baron Corbin via pinfall.
- After the match Shin's personal guitarist plays air guitar as Shin takes the crown back.
- Backstage Roman, Jey, and Paul head to the locker room that Jimmy is in as we go to commercial.
- We come back from the break to Jimmy saying to Roman that he doesn't care about the Universal title and that he cares about Jey and their bond before saying that Roman will be inducted into the Hall of Fame as a spoiled bitch before Roman and Jimmy talk to Jey at the same time. Jey says that he's tired of the both of them before leaving Roman and Jimmy as Jimmy yells at Roman before Roman acts confused as to why Jimmy wants to fight him before saying that he shouldn't have to depend on Jey to bring him around since Jimmy is the older brother. Roman then guilt trips Jimmy about what he's done to Jey, and telling him that he needs to make things right with Jey before Jimmy leaves to go after his brother as Roman looks on and cradles his title.
- Rey comes out to the ring and calls Roman out before Roman and Paul make their way out to the ring and Rey says that he acknowledges Roman as a bastard and that he acknowledges him as the man he's willing to fight even if he loses the fight and that he acknowledges him as the man that he wants to fight inside of Hell in a Cell. Roman then gets on the mic and says that he acknowledges Rey as a father before Rey attacks him with a kendo stick and Roman grabs it before head-butting Rey and Rey hits him with the stick when Roman goes for a powerbomb before Roman throws Rey out of the ring. Rey then gets back inside before Roman hits a superman punch before Dom shows up and attacks Roman before Roman powerbombs Dom over the top rope and onto the floor before Rey hits Roman from behind and Roman boots him when he checks on Dom as we go off the air with Roman standing tall as agents show up.
