WWE Smackdown on FOX Results for 7/2/21 Roman Reigns Responds, Owens vs Zayn

Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight's edition of WWE Smackdown on FOX!

- We open tonight's show with Edge coming out to the ring before he leaves and we see Paul and Jimmy backstage, Jey still missing in action with Roman nowhere to be found in the locker room.

AEW To Announce Continental Classic 2024 Participants On Sunday, November 24

Shinsuke Nakamura & Big E vs Apollo Crews (w/ Commander Azeez) & Baron Corbin

Shin and Apollo kick things off before Shin and E double team Apollo and hit Good Vibrations before E comes in and locks in an abdominal stretch before Apollo tags in Baron and E knocks Baron off of the apron before Baron clotheslines E at ringside and dumps him into the time keeper's area as we go to commercial.

We come back from Baron to in control of E with a rear chin lock before Baron hits a back elbow for two before Apollo rocks E with an enzuigiri and Baron knocks Shin off of the apron before hitting a front slam for two before Apollo sends Shin out of the ring and Shin drops him as Corbin locks in a chin bar on E. Baron then gets distracted by the big screen where his car is being towed before E hits the Big Ending for the pin and the win.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura and Big E defeat Baron Corbin and Apollo Crews via pinfall.

- We go to the ring for a face to face between Bayley and Smackdown Women's champion Bianca Belair before Bianca mocks Bayley for not winning the title at Hell in a Cell and leaves up the ramp.

- Backstage we see Paul pacing back and forth before Jimmy comes into the room and says that he's going to Adam and Sonya and demand a match against Edge and beat the hell out of him before leaving.

Money in the Bank Last Man Standing Qualifier Match
Kevin Owens vs Sami Zayn

Kevin immediately takes Sami down and beats on him in the corner before hitting a cannonball and Sami rolls out of the ring before getting to his feet at six before sending Kevin into the barricade and clotheslines him before Kevin sends him over the barricade and goes after him and sends him into the LED board before tossing him back over the barricade and hitting a swanton off of the top of the barricade. Sami then sends Kevin off of the top of the barricade and tosses him onto the announce table before Kevin gets up at seven as we go to commercial.

We come back from the break to Kevin making his comeback as he drops Sami repeatedly before Sami rolls out onto the apron and falls onto the floor before Kevin sets up several tables at ringside and Sami hits an exploder in the corner before Kevin counters a superplex into one of his own before Sami gets up at eight. Sami then sends Kevin off of the top and flipping over the post and through the tables at ringside before Kevin gets up at the count of nine as we go to commercial.

We come back from the break as Sami throws a table at Kevin and the two exchange on the apron before Sami hits a half and half onto the apron and Kevin crashes down onto the floor before getting up at the count of eight and rolling back inside before Sami hits a Helluva Kick and Kevin gets back up at eight before Sami hits a second Helluva Kick. Sami lifts Kevin and props him up in the corner before hitting a third Helluva Kick and Kevin rolls out of the ring and onto his feet at nine before Sami goes to dive through the ropes and Kevin superkicks him before hitting a pop-up powerbomb and Sami gets up at eight before Kevin hits a stunner and Sami rolls out of the ring. Kevin then powerbombs Sami through the announce table and a table at ringside before powerbombing him onto the edge of the apron before Sami is incapacitated and unable to get up at the count of ten for the win.

Winner: Kevin Owens defeats Sami Zayn when Sami cannot answer the ten count and earns the final spot in the Men's Money in the Bank match.

- We get a backstage interview with Edge ahead of his face to face with Roman later tonight as we go to commercial as Sonya comes out to the ring.

- An I Quit match for the Smackdown Women's title is announced for Money in the Bank between the champion Bianca Belair and the challenger Bayley.

- We come back from the break as Sonya introduces the returning Zelina Vega for the Women's Money in the Bank match before she's interrupted by Liv Morgan who slaps Zelina before challenging her to a match.

Liv Morgan vs Zelina Vega

Zelina takes control early and chokes Liv in the ropes as Carmella looks on from backstage before dropping Liv and beating on her before sending her face first into the top turnbuckle and kicking her in the head before hitting a running knee for two before Liv gets two off of a crucifix and they exchange pin falls until Liv wins with the tights.

Winner: Liv Morgan defeats Zelina Vega via pinfall.

- Seth Rollins meets with Sonya and Adam and lobbies for a match against Cesaro next week.

Otis vs Angelo Dawkins

Angelo is in control before Chad distracts him and Otis runs him over before focusing on his arm and hitting a diving splash off of the second rope before hitting a Vader bomb for the pin and the win.

Winner: Otis defeats Angelo Dawkins via pinfall.

- New Money in the Bank qualifiers are announced for next week between Shinsuke Nakamura and Baron Corbin and Seth Rollins and Cesaro.

- We go to the ring as Jimmy Uso calls out Edge who obliges before Edge sends Jimmy into the posts and Jimmy superkicks Edge when he goes to hit him with the stairs before rolling him into the ring and beating on him before Edge drops him with a boot and locks in a submission before Jimmy taps and Edge breaks the hold before spearing Jimmy. Edge then stands tall over Jimmy with Roman nowhere to be found before break the leg off of a chair and putting it in the mouth of Jimmy while re-applying the submission as we go off the air with Edge screaming at the camera.
