Good evening Fight Fans, and welcome to our coverage for tonight's edition of WWE Smackdown on FOX!
- We open tonight's show with a recap of Becky Lynch defeating Bianca Belair in a matters of seconds at Summerslam to become the new Smackdown Women's champion before we open in the arena with Michael Cole and special commentators for tonight Corey Graves and Kevin Owens as Pat McAfee is out with COVID-19. Becky next comes out to the ring to cheers before Becky gets on the mic and says that she missed the WWE Universe and talks about how hard it was for her to give up her title before talking about how hard she's been working to get back on top. Becky says that she's more deadly than before now that she's a mother as some fans boo when she brings up her return and victory at Summerslam before Becky says that she's not sorry and everything is about timing and opportunity as she says that she's been preparing fo this moment. Becky is interrupted by the former champion Bianca Belair who comes out to the ring and says that she's worked too hard and too long for Becky to erase everything she's done in twenty six seconds before Bianca challenges Becky to a rematch tonight. Bianca and Becky are interrupted by Zelina Vega, Carmella, Liv Morgan before Liv, Zelina, and Carmella argue and Becky leaves before Zelina and Carmella attack Bianca before Liv clears the ring as we go to commercial.
WWE Smackdown Women's Championship Number One Contender Fatal Four Way Elimination Match
Liv Morgan vs Bianca Belair vs Zelina Vega vs Carmella
Bianca takes out Carmella before focusing on Zelina and doing curls with her before hitting a military press and dropping her face first into the canvas and knocking Liv off of the apron she hits a hand spring moonsault before Carmella grabs Bianca's hair and she and Zelina double up on Bianca for two. Carmella rolls Zelina up for two after Zelina takes out Liv and the two argue while exchanging roll ups before Bianca takes out Zelina and Bianca dumps Carmella out of the ring before Bianca hits Zelina with the KOD for the pin and the elimination. Liv then sends Bianca out of the ring before pinning and eliminating Zelina to bring it down to just her and Bianca as the two face off as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Liv in control of Bianca on the mat before Bianca gets to her feet and runs Liv over before hitting a running shoulder tackle in the corner and Liv hits a head scissors into a jumping stomp for two before Liv hits a drop toe hold into the middle turnbuckle and misses a jumping stomp. Bianca hits a spine buster for two before Bianca counters a flat liner into a delayed suplex before Liv counters the suplex attempt into a code breaker for a near fall before Bianca hits a snake eyes and the KOD for the pin and the win.
Winner: Bianca Belair defeats Liv Morgan, Zelina Vega, and Carmella via pinfall to earn a shot at Becky Lynch's title.
- Backstage Paul Heyman interviewed before he tries to enter Roman's locker room and the door is locked as we go to commercial.
- We get a recap of Roman Reigns defending his Universal title against John Cena at Summerslam before the return of Brock Lesnar.
- We go backstage once more to the interviewer waiting by Paul before the door unlocks and The Usos come out and inform him that Roman isn't there yet before The Usos ask Paul if he knew Brock was coming back before Paul swears that he had no idea Brock was coming back before going back into the locker room and leaving Paul in the hallway.
Chad Gable (w/ Otis) vs Cesaro
Cesaro sends Chad into opposite corners and hits running uppercuts before Chad escapes to the apron to avoid a swing before Chad comes back in and focuses on the arm of Cesaro before Cesaro goes for a swing and Otis comes in and attacks Cesaro for the disqualification before he and Chad double team Cesaro.
Winner: Cesaro defeats Chad Gable via disqualification.
- We go outside to Baron Corbin back to being rich and calling himself Happy Corbin as we go to commercial.
- We come back from the break to Baron making his way out to the ring with a red carpet in it and talks about how he's the happiest man in the world before calling out Big E who comes out to the ring and Baron tries to buy the Money in the Bank briefcase from E to which E denies him before threatening Baron who leaves.
- We get a backstage promo by Edge after his victory over Seth Rollins at Summerslam where he says that he's taken care of the past and he's moving on before we cut to Seth who congratulates Edge and says his loss taught him something about himself and that he admires Edge before saying that he thinks maybe he should be a little more like him.
- Backstage we see Roman entering the arena and walking up to Paul who asks if he has to own his own door before Paul opens the door and Roman asks Paul if he's coming in before Paul gingerly enters behind Roman.
Shinsuke Nakamura & Rick Boogs vs Dolph Ziggler & Robert Roode
Rick and Dolph start the match off with Rick controlling Dolph on the mat before playing guitar with him and hitting a fall away slam before Dolph rocks him with a back elbow and Robert gets the blind tag before hitting a neckbreaker for two before he and Dolph chain together tags and offense. Shinsuke comes in and drops Robert with a leg lariat before taking out Dolph and hitting Robert with a sliding German before teasing the Kinshasa and Robert counters into a roll up for two before Robert sends him out onto the apron and Shinsuke hits an enzuigiri from the apron. Dolph then hits Shinsuke with a Zig-Zag off of the apron and down onto the floor as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Shinsuke getting the hot tag to Rick who drops Dolph for two before Robert saves Dolph and Rick suplexes Robert before Dolph superkicks him for a near fall that Shinsuke breaks up before Shinsuke sends Robert out of the ring and Dolph dumps Shinsuke before Rick and Dolph counter each other until Rick hits a pump handle slam for the pin and the win.
Winner: Rick Boogs and Shinsuke Nakamura defeat Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode via pinfall.
- Backstage Naomi meets with Sonya Deville and asks for a match before Sonya says that she had no idea Naomi was even coming to Smackdown before saying that she's not sure how Naomi measures up and will think about it and let her know next week.
- Rey and Dominik talk backstage where Rey says that they're a good tag team before Rey says that he wants them to go their separate ways and he step back and let Dominik flourish on his own before telling Dom he's got a match tonight and he needs to be focused for his match, and if he is he'll come out victorious.
Dominik Mysterio (w/ Rey Mysterio) vs Sami Zayn
Sami backs Dominik. into the corner repeatedly before beating him down and dropping him with a back elbow before Dominik hits a head scissors into a back drop and Sami backs off before Sami clubs Dominik who comes back with an arm drag and a dropkick into a head scissors. Sami then counters a 619 as Dom spills through the ropes and crashing down onto the floor as Rey comes out and checks on his son as we go to commercial.
We come back from the break to Sami in control of Dominik in the ring as he chokes him in the ropes and has words with Rey at ringside before Dominik gets a near fall off of an inside cradle and the two counter each other until Dominik hits a 619 and goes up top before Sami rolls across the ring before suplexing Dominik into the corner. Sami then hits a Helluva Kick for the pin and the win.
Winner: Sami Zayn defeats Dominik Mysterio via pinfall.
- The Bloodline are backstage as Paul tries to give Roman the title and asks what he's doing before noting that it's a family celebration before Roman tells Paul that he is family and he loves him before they come out to the ring as we go to commercial.
- We come back from the break to The Bloodline in the ring as Roman gets on the mic and stops before speaking and turning to Paul and giving him the mic before Paul introduces Roman and The Usos before they're interrupted by Finn Balor who comes out to the ring and challenges Roman for the Universal title before he attacks Roman before he's beaten down by The Usos. Finn is then saved by The Street Profits before Roman and Paul leave and SP and Finn take out Jey and Jimmy as we go off the air.
