Retrosoft Announces Plans For Tag Titles And New Tag Teams To Be Added To RetroMania Wrestling

RetroMania is bringing new tag teams and a tag team championship in future updates.

RetroMania Wrestling is the spiritual successor to WWF WrestleFest, the arcade classic from 1991. A big portion of that game was tag team wrestling. In fact, it was the only thing you could do in the game outside of a Royal Rumble.

When the console version of RetroMania was released, there was an ability to do more than just tag team matches. Therefore, the game was built around a story mode where you take John Morrison, known in the game as Johnny Retro, and lead him to the NWA World Championship.

The first part of the story mode leads to the announcement of a tag team tournament. during a panel at the Too Many Games convention, Mike Hermann revealed that there will be Tag Team Championships coming to the game as well as more tag team wrestlers.

No further details were given but Hermann did joke that it is in their contract that two-thirds of the BWO must be the first champions.

Currently, they are working on the next major update for the game which will feature the inclusion of the first 3 DLC Superstars, James Storm, Mr. Hughes, and Chris Bey. Learn more here.

You can check out the full panel above and download the game right now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
