Rey Mysterio is a champion once again.
One night after unsuccessfully challenging for the Universal Champion against Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series, Mysterio defeated AJ Styles to win the United States Championship on Raw. This was the second time that Mysterio had won the United States this year.
Mysterio winning the title came after a series of events that unfolded throughout the night, starting off with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson attacking Humberto Carrillo, Styles’ original opponent for Raw. Afterwards, Ricochet, Randy Orton, Drew McIntyre and Mysterio had a fatal four-way match where the winner would take on Styles next, won by Mysterio.
Afterwards, Mysterio had to deal with not only Styles but also further interference from Gallows and Anderson. Despite this, Mysterio was able to capture the title and celebrate with his son.
