Rhea Ripley: All I've Ever Wanted Was For Dominik Mysterio To Stand Up For Himself

Rhea Ripley speaks about her Dom Dom.

Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio have been paired together for two years, and in that time, the onscreen couple have faced their fair share of ups and downs.

Most recently, Dominik Mysterio appeared to rekindle things with Ripley after shutting down Liv Morgan, who had been aggressively trying to steal Ripley's "Latino Heat" away from the inaugural WWE Women's World Champion. On the July 22 episode of WWE Raw, Dominik Mystero verbally eviscerated Morgan, flat-out telling her he hates her.

Ripley recently spoke about Dominik Mysterio's aggressive outburst in an interview with Chris Van Vliet recorded ahead of WWE SummerSlam 2024. She said that all she ever wanted to see from Dom was him standing up for himself in situations where he wasn't happy, such as with his father, Rey Mysterio.

"He's doing good. I feel like he's got this burst of confidence after finally standing up for himself, which I love. That's all I've ever wanted from Dom. I've wanted him to see his potential and to stand up for himself in situations that he doesn't want to be in. That's the whole reason why he turned on Rey. He was in his shadow. So he finally had enough and was like, 'Screw it. I want to be my own man.' So he became his own man.

"I think it was the same with Liv as well. She was love-bombing him, and he was so uncomfortable. He didn't know how to tell her to stop in a way that wasn't the nice Dominik way because he's not an angry man. He's very calm, collected, and respectful when you get to know him. So he was trying to do it the respectful way. But then he finally had enough, and I mean, you could tell it. I love that."

At SummerSlam, it won't be about Dominik Mysterio when Morgan and Ripley finally settle their issues for the Women's World Championship. Ripley is simply looking to win back the championship she never lost in the middle of the ring.
