Ric Flair will wrestle in what is being advertised as his final match on July 31 as part of Starrcast V.
Flair's opponent (or opponents) have yet to be revealed. Brian Blair made headlined by saying that he heard Hulk Hogan was going to be Flair's final opponent.
That would be news to Flair.
"I didn't know you signed him up yet," joked Flair with Conrad Thompson on his To Be The Man podcast.
When asked if he was wrestling Hogan, Flair replied, "Not that I know of, I think you would have run that by me. He's invited, I've talked to him personally, to come to the roast and to come to the match. He hasn't confirmed for sure, but I'm pretty sure he'll be there. Without Eric Bischoff booking it, he doesn't want anything to do with me [laughs]."
Thompson noted that he expects the match to sold out and asked Flair for his thoughts on the buzz about the bout.
"I'm very excited, especially because no one knows who is competing. I'm very excited, just being part of it has me excited. I'm pushing, I'm a guy who has to have a goal to push myself hard. Not knowing exactly who the opponents are going to be, but having a rough idea," he said.
While doing media rounds for the event, Flair noted that he plans to come off the top rope in his final match. You can find his full comments by clicking here.
