Ric Flair Says He Targeted Shawn Michaels In Recent Video Because Michaels Hurt His Feelings

Ric Flair explains why he brought up Shawn Michaels in his recent video.

When two-time WWE Hall Of Famer and former 16-time World Champion Ric Flair was discharged from the hospital after his recent health scare, a series of videos were uploaded to his YouTube channel and in one of the videos, Flair directed his words at those who were a part of his ESPN 30 for 30 that aired in November of 2017. Flair mentioned fellow two-time WWE Hall Of Famer Shawn Michaels judging him during the documentary and expressed that he was not too fond of Michaels doing so. Flair joined Busted Open Radio with Dave LaGreca and Bully Ray recently and explained why he brought up Shawn Michaels during said video and the basis of Flair's explanation was that Shawn hurt his feelings.

WWE Hall Of Famers To Appear On Next Tuesday's WWE NXT

“What I said, I meant because he hurt my feelings, not because I question who he is as a wrestler." Flair said of Michaels. "I mean Jim Ross, I called up Jim Ross and cursed him out but you know, Jim was telling the truth. When you open yourself up to something like that -- 30-for-30, you’re taking the good and the bad, and that’s what it is. I didn’t like what my own kids said about me but… and anybody who knows me, knows that if I have it in my pocket, it’s theirs and I can assure you they all lived great lives. Was I there? No, but here’s the deal: if you think the kids -- and it’s a tough schedule to this day, an extremely tough schedule, but you can’t even compare it to not going home for three months, for four months, literally, and then going to Mexico and staying down there and flying --- that story I tell over and over again when I was in Florida all week long wrestling Barry [Windham] for an hour and then double shots with Barry, Rotunda for an hour -- each one. Billy Jack [Haynes] for an hour, Dusty an hour and then having to fly to Japan knowing that I had to get off the plane and wrestle Jumbo [Tsuruta] for an hour, three separate nights, I completely broke down." Flair said. "I drank. I wrestled Butch Reed for an hour in a cage… ‘Here’s Eddie Graham.’ In the old aluminum building, sports arena in Orlando, one hour in a cage, 110 degrees and you can’t use the cage as a weapon. Ok Eddie, thank you.”

Flair is releasing a new video to his YouTube channel and he'll be doing a Q&A and questions can be submitted under his promotional tweet.
