Ric Flair Sells "The Man" Trademarks To WWE

Ric Flair and WWE have come to an agreement concerning the intellectual property of “The Man.”

Back when Becky Lynch began referring to herself as “The Man,” Ric Flair trademark the term, as he had been calling himself “The Man” in promos for many decades.

On May 18, 2020, WWE and Ric Flair came to an agreement where Flair sold all rights to two trademarks of "The Man" that he tried to register in August 2019. (per PWInsider)

At the time, Flair, a two-time WWE Hall of Famer, publicly stated in media interviews that felt he should be paid accordingly for WWE using the term to push Becky Lynch throughout her skyrocketing journey in WWE's main-event scene.

Ric Flair recently signed a new deal with WWE declaring that he would be with the promotion “forever.”
