Hering recently attended the December 2024 edition of WWE Saturday Night's Main Event on Long Island. Speaking about his experience during an appearance on the Ciliberto and Friends podcast, he revealed he was invited to the event by Paul Levesque and Stephanie McMahon due to his contributions to WWE through the years and his help in creating the initial edition of Saturday Night's Main Event in 1985.

"I got a call from Stephanie McMahon Paul Levesque and they said, ‘You did the first show, you helped bring it down there, come on down.’ I said, ’I’m not driving from Liberty in wintertime all the way to Nassau. They said, ‘Will you drive to White Plains Airport?’ ‘Yeah, I’ll do that.’ We flew down from White Plains to the Nassau County Coliseum. It was a 15-minute flight. I had no idea they were going to put me on the air. I didn’t know that until I got down there. It was great because I spent time with people I knew over the years like Jesse Ventura, Tito Santana, Greg Valentine, and a lot of the old-timers. It was a lot of fun. We had a great time."
