Rick Boogs Sustains Injury At WWE WrestleMania 38, Will Require Surgery

Rick Boogs will be out of action for the foreseeable future.

On April 2 at WrestleMania 38, Rick Boogs and Shinsuke Nakamura challenged The Usos for the SmackDown Tag Team Titles. Unfortunately, during the match, Boogs' right leg gave up under him and he tried to carry both Jimmy and Jey on his shoulders. He rolled to the outside and didn't re-enter the match.

Once The Usos pinned Nakamura, Rick was carried to the back by medical personnel. Later during the broadcast, Michael Cole and Pat McAfee revealed that Boogs suffered a torn quad and the patellar tendon will require surgery. The procedure will place in the next couple of days.

Fightful will continue to monitor the situation and provide any and all updates.

On behalf of Fightful, our thoughts are with Rick Boogs and we wish him a full and speedy recovery.
