Ricochet: The Internet Cares More About Different Wrestling Styles Than The Wrestlers Do

Ricochet comments on the different styles in wrestling.

Braun Strowman made headlines following WWE Crown Jewel 2022 when he tweeted, and then deleted, "Holy hell @TheGiant Omos can you believe we got 47 and reminded the people that no one cares about all these floppy floppers. Giants and Monster > flippy flipper bag your grocery’s at @kroger #AirportTest #SizeIsThePrize #SwoleIsTheGoal."

Ricochet was one of his peers who responded to the tweet, but later said that he didn't put much thought into Braun's comments and that they were still friends. On television, they faced each other in the SmackDown World Cup and have also teamed together.

Speaking to Stephanie Chase, Ricochet discussed his pairing with Braun.

"Braun has been great. I've known Braun ever since I've been in the WWE. He's always been great, even now, he's been coming out to help me with Imperium or Hit Row, and I've helped him. That's going great. It's especially great when you and somebody like Braun Strowman to be on the same page. It's always nice to have a monster in your pocket, just in case. Things have been great. If he and I can start to get closer and become together as a tag team, it could be dangerous," he said.

When asked about the different styles of wrestling and how he dealt coming into the company as more of a high flier, Ricochet responded by saying, "I think the internet talks more about it than the wrestlers do. The internet cares more about it than the wrestlers do. For the most part, everyone backstage, they just want to make something together and want to make a work of art for you guys. I don't think anyone really cares (about) a style of anyone else. If you hear it, it's usually more of the internet than the locker room."

Ricochet most recently defeated Top Dolla in a Royal Rumble qualifying match on the January 6 episode of WWE SmackDown. He was attacked by Hit Row (Dolla, B-Fab and Ashante "Thee" Adonis) after the bout, but was saved by Braun.

Fightful will have live coverage of WWE SmackDown beginning at 8 p.m. ET on Friday.
