Ricochet reflects on his big spot with Logan Paul at the 2023 Royal Rumble.
The 2023 Royal Rumble Premium Live Event was full of highlight reel moments, but one that stood out amongst the rest was a spot in the men's Royal Rumble match. Logan Paul and Ricochet would face off on opposite sides of the ring before both attempting a springboard clothesline, taking each other out in a mid-air collision that wowed fans.
During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Ricochet looked back on the moment and how it came together.
"I don’t know if he had any specific conversations about that. I’m unaware of. I was approached by (Shane) Helms with the idea. I was approached by Hurricane with the idea that day. That day they came to me when I got to the arena. With all the stars they had in the match and what they had planned, with everything Logan does is a clip. Selfishly, you want it to be the most talked about thing. I never expect anything to be the main thing. I just like planning something that looks cool and feels cool. At the same time, I knew it was going to be a crazy experience."
Ricochet continued, stating his belief that Logan possibly got his 'rocked his head' on the spot.
"I think, poor guy, rocked his head. He said he was okay, but he came down hard. Mine was more of the wind when I landed, just from that high up. When he landed, he said he was okay. I was definitely out of breath. It’s one of those things where you get hit and [mimics having trouble breathing]."
While Paul nor Ricochet would end up walking away the victors of the Men's Royal Rumble match, they would meet in singles action at SummerSlam in 2023, with Paul winning that matchup.
Elsewhere during the same interview, Ricochet noted that he feels like he didn't tone down his style while in WWE. You can read more about that here.
