Rikishi is not against WWE.
WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi has been outspoken about the booking of his son Jey Uso in recent months. On a recent episode of his Off The Top podcast, he suggested that Uso should think about taking a break, and he noted that WWE was not the only place he could go.
"It's a concern. At the end of the day, these are our bodies and this is my flesh and blood. My flesh and blood is pounding his body day in and day out. He has a family and comes home aching, his body is hurting. He'll never sell it because he's not trained to quit. You sign that dotted line, I'm not talking about that contract, that dotted line for you and yours. That's bigger than the purpose of WWE. The kid is so good, WWE ain't the only spot. He could probably go to AEW if he wants to write his own ticket, maybe more than what WWE is making on him. Hopefully, they turn it around and do the right thing by The Yeet Man," Rikishi said.
Speaking on the latest episode of his Off The Top podcast, Rikishi was asked about Jacob Fatu giving his up his WWE Tag Team Championship at the orders of Sollo Sikoa. He then brought up the backlash of his criticism of WWE.
“I can’t even call it. When was the last time you’ve ever seen anything like that? I’m a fan now. I don’t even want to say anything no more because every time I say something, I make news, and then people twist my words, like I’m against WWE. I’m not against WWE. Why would I be against WWE?" Rikishi said.
Rikishi's past comments about Jey Uso came up in the conversation. He clarified that he never said that Uso should leave WWE. Rikishi stated that WWE was the Samoan Dynasty's home, and they were not going anywhere.
"If you’re gonna talk about what I said, please make sure you put down exact, don’t twist my words around. I’m gonna say it again, WWE is The Dynasty’s home, period. We are not going nowhere, we don’t plan to go nowhere. The past, present, and future. Give me a YEET on that," Rikishi said.
Rikishi recently provided an update on Jimmy Uso. Check out his comments here.
Jey Uso earned a shot at the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the September 9th episode of WWE Raw. More information is available here.
