Rikishi wants more for the YEET Man.
Jey Uso has become one of the most popular stars on WWE Raw in recent months, but he has yet to score a major win, as he came up short in the King of the Ring match and the Men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
Speaking on RIKISHI FATU OFF THE TOP, Rikishi expressed his frustration with the way WWE was booking Jey Uso.
"They’re not doing a damn thing with Yeet. My opinion’s why? Why do you not push or give the most popular babyface, in my eyes, be it my son or not, if the Yeet Master or the Yeet man is over, why? How come? What is the problem, not giving this guy some type of title, something, win something? It’d only be good for business, wouldn’t it?" Rikishi said.
The road to WWE SummerSlam came up in the conversation, and Rikishi noted that there did not seem to be a solid plan for Uso. He referred to the teased romance between Uso and Rhea Ripley and again made it clear that he was frustrated that the company didn't have Jey in a more significant spot.
“Is that the best they got? The number one, in my eyes, again, I get hot when I’m talking about this because whether it’s my son or somebody else, this kid worked hard. Not saying everybody else didn’t, but damn it, in this industry, you work hard. They conquered the tag team [division]. What else is there to do? Now he breaks off as Yeet. Right? He does this thing here, and yet it’s not like they’re giving the gas pedal to him. It’s almost like I want to come back with that promo I did a while back. Now I can add, ‘Jey Uso has been held down.’ High Chief Peter Maivia has been held down. Afa and Sika has been held down. Rikishi has been held down. Damn it, I said that interview 25 or so years ago, and now we’ve come up to 2024, and now we got a Bloodline that’s being held down? Come on. Why? Give me a good explanation why. I got hairs on the back of my neck every time I watch and, 'Okay, SummerSlam, where’s Yeet? Ah. I don’t know, let’s write him in like he likes Mami.' Mami? That’s the best that those writers got? Let’s write this guy into a relationship with Mami? What are y’all trying to do? Break his marriage up? Y’all can’t put him in a good storyline, so what you gonna do now? God forbid you guys try to tell her tongue kiss each other on Raw. Shit, that better not happen," Rikishi said.
Uso and Sami Zayn defeated The Judgment Day (Finn Balor and JD McDonagh) in the main event of the July 22nd episode of WWE Raw.
