At the July 8 NXT live event in Citrus Springs, Florida, Simone Johnson (Ava Raine) was in the crowd scouting for talent.
One night later in Orlando at another NXT live event, Raine cut a promo and called herself "The FInal Girl."
Raine is the daughter of The Rock (Dwayne Johnson) and signed with WWE in February 2020, but this marked her first time in a feature role at a live event.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, The Rock reacted to her appearances.
"She's made history, very very proud of her. She is fiercely independent, it's very important for her to make her own way, blaze her own trail, blaze her own path. She doesn't come to me looking for a lot, which I respect. I'm here watching and supporting," he said.
In May, it was revealed that Johnson would use the name Ava Raine in NXT, which was questioned by fans as to why WWE would not capitalize on her last name. She explained that a name doesn't discredit prior accomplishments. You can view her full explanation by clicking here.
During the interview, Rock also praised Montez Ford and when asked if he would be returning to the ring, he said, "Of course, yeah, always open to that. For sure."
It is unknown if or when The Rock will return to the ring. He, Roman Reigns, and Paul Heyman have publicly discussed the possibility of Rock facing Reigns at WrestleMania 39.
The Rock's new film "DC League of Super-Pets" is set to hit theaters on July 29.
