The Rock will return to movie theaters in October.
According to Deadline, ‘The Smashing Machine’, a Mark Kerr biopic that is led by Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, is set to hit theaters on Friday, October 3, 2025.
This news comes after the film was originally rumored to be released in 2024. As of publish time, the movie will open in theaters alongside ‘Michael’, ‘Roofman’, and ‘Keeper’.
The cast for ‘The Smashing Machine’ also includes names like Emily Blunt, Ryan Bader, and Bas Rutten. The film was directed and written by Benny Safdie of ‘Uncut Gems’ and ‘Good Time’ fame.
Furthermore, the film is being released by A24, the studio behind hit films like ‘Everything Everywhere All At Once’, ‘Moonlight’, ‘Hereditary’, ‘Midsommar’, ‘The Lighthouse’, ‘Lady Bird’, ‘Aftersun’, and ‘The Iron Claw’.
As of now, ‘The Smashing Machine’ is set to be The Rock’s only film in 2025. In 2026, ‘The Final Boss’ will star in ‘Moana’ and Jumanji 3’.
