Roman Reigns: If Jon Moxley Could Have Been The Man In WWE, He Would Have, But He Couldn't

Roman Reigns and Jon Moxley (Dean Ambrose in WWE) entered the WWE main roster together as The Shield.

Both found varying degrees of success with separate WWE Championship reigns. Reigns has remained on top of the WWE and is the reigning WWE Universal Champion while Moxley has found success in AEW as a former AEW World Champion.

During Reigns' promo battle with John Cena on WWE SmackDown, Cena mentioned Reigns as running Moxley out of WWE.

Speaking about Moxley to Ariel Helwani on BT Sport, Reigns said about Moxley, "Dean [Moxley], obviously, is doing what Dean is doing. I think he's happy over there at AEW. If he could have been the man here (in WWE), he would have been the man here, but he couldn't be the man because I'm the man. Seth Rollins is going through the same thing, but he's doing great. I can say that as someone who is still doing better than him. I'm the Universal Champion. I'm the Head of the Table. This is my company. He's still a great talent who is doing some of the best work of his career."

When asked when he last talked to Moxley, Roman replied, "It's been a while. The last time was around WrestleMania. I need to reach out to him and give him a congrats on the baby and everything. With everything going on and pandemic and being back on the road and dealing with John Cena, it's been a crazy quarter."

Elsewhere during the interview, Roman gave his thoughts on CM Punk in comparison to John Cena and The Rock. You can find his full comments by clicking here.

Reigns is set to headline WWE SummerSlam against John Cena on Saturday. Meanwhile, Moxley will face Daniel Garcia on Friday's AEW Rampage.
