Roman Reigns Takes On Robert Roode In A Tables Match On 1/17 WWE SmackDown, Stipulation Added

Roman Reigns will clash with Robert Roode this Friday, Jan. 17 in a tables match on WWE SmackDown.

The match was announced during Monday's WWE Raw.

Roode made his return from a 30-day wellness suspension last Friday on SmackDown, helping King Corbin & Dolph Ziggler in attacking Reigns. The duo of Roode & Ziggler closed the show by putting Reigns through a table and burying him underneath it. Roode was written off television for his suspension when Reigns decimated Roode, burying him under a table.

The feud between Roode and Reigns dates back months as Roode has been associated with Corbin, who has been trying to oust Reigns as the "locker room leader" since Survivor Series. Reigns holds a 1-0 record against Roode in singles competition, defeating him on the Nov. 29 episode of WWE SmackDown.

On Friday, WWE stated that the winner of Roode vs. Reigns will get to choose the stipulation for Reigns' bout against King Corbin at WWE Royal Rumble.

Also announced for the show is John Morrison's first WWE match since 2011. Morrison will take on Big E in singles action. Lacey Evans vs. Sasha Banks is also scheduled for SmackDown.
