The first matchup in the TBS Women's Championship Tournament is in the books.
On Friday's AEW Rampage, the bracket was revealed for the AEW TBS Championship Tournament with four first-round matches and four women receiving byes.
Tonight on Dynamite, Ruby Soho faced and defeated Penelope Ford in the first round. The finish came when Rick Knox caught Ford trying to introduce brass knuckles and kicked them out of the ring. This distracted Ford long enough for Ruby to roll her up for the 1-2-3.
After the bell, The Bunny and Ford surrounded Ruby, but just as they were about to attack, Red Velvet came to her aid and, along with Ruby, chased them off. Red Velvet and The Bunny will meet in another one of the first-round matches. The winner of that match will go on to face Jade Cargill.
Soho, now in the quarter-finals, will face Kris Statlander next.
