Sabu Competes In Retirement Match At Joey Janela's Spring Break, Bill Alfonso And Sandman Make Appearances

Sabu got in the ring one last time at Joey Janela's Spring Break 9, taking on Joey Janela in a no ropes barbed wire match.

The bout got bloody quickly, with both men going into the barbed wire. Bill Alfonso made an early cameo, giving a chair to Sabu. Sabu went face first into a barbed wire web, and was then tossed onto a barbed wire board, crashing hard to the outside and onto the concrete.

Atticus Cogar and Otis Cogar got involved, going after Janela. The lights went out and "Enter Sandman" hit, leading to The Sandman making his way through the crowd to eventually join the fray. Sandman cleared the ring of the Cogar brothers. Janela then wiped out Sandman, leaving him and Sabu to continue their war.

After tossing Janela onto a door of barbed wire and the barbed wire web, Sabu finished Janela off with an Arabian Face Busted with the steel chair for the victory.

After the match, Janela said he wasn't sure the match was going to happen, but went on to praise Sabu, giving him his Indie Wrestling Hall of Fame plaque. Janela said Sabu is on his Mount Rushmore and is one of his favorite wrestlers of all-time.

Sabu began his career in 1990 and is one of the most legendary hardcore wrestlers in history. He is best known for his time in ECW, where he was a triple crown champion.
