Sadie Gibbs says her return to the ring is set for November.
Gibbs previously competed for AEW, but the COVID-19 pandemic limited her ability to travel to the United States and compete for the company. AEW released her in 2020, and in 2021, she announced that she was retiring. Gibbs announced her plan to return to wrestling in June 2023.
Speaking with Ella Jay for WrestleZone, Gibbs was asked if she had a timeline for her return, and she stated that she has one match lined up for November. (H/t WrestleZone for the transcription).
“At the moment, I’ve got one match lined up, which is November, and that’s in Germany. So yeah, I was their DWA Champ for a while,” Gibbs said. “I’m not sure, we’ve got one person in mind who it’s gonna be with, and she’s also from Germany, and she’s a very good wrestler. I’ve watched her a long time. We’ll see if anything comes clear because that’s a long way off, but like I said, it’s getting the gear made. Once that’s all in my hands, it will all feel real," Gibbs said.
Gibbs was asked whether she is open for bookings, and she stated that she is. She expressed her hope that she will be back in business by the end of August, or at the latest, she wants to be wrestling again by October.
“Definitely, from the end of August. Mid-September to August. I am hoping to have all my gear and everything. It’s a lot to get done and a lot to do. [I] definitely want to be in the ring by October," Gibbs said.
Gibbs also stated that she will start scouting opponents once she feels like she is ready to face them. At the moment, she noted that she doesn't specifically have her eyes on potential matchups, as getting ready for her return is her priority.
