Sami Zayn honored Johnny Gaudreau on the September 9th episode of WWE Raw, wearing his Calgary Flames jersey as he confronted Gunther.
Zayn, sticking up for Bret Hart, wore Johnny Hockey's #13 Flames jersey as he stood face-to-face with WWE World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. Zayn would get the better in a striking exchange with Gunther, who bailed from ringside.
In the segment, Zayn once against challenged to face him for the WWE World Heavyweight Title, and Gunther once again refused.

Johnny, along with his brother Matthew Gaudreau tragically passed away August 29, 2024 when they were struck and killed by an alleged drunk driver.
WWE Raw emanated from Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where Johnny Gaudreau played for the Calgary Flames for nine seasons.
Later in the evening, Jackie Redmond paid tribute to Johnny and Matthew, speaking on how much Johnny meant to Calgary and showing the outside of the arena where fans have left tributes to Johnny.
