Sami Zayn: We Were As Surprised As Everyone To Learn About Our WWE Night Of Champions Match

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens weren't expecting to defend their tag team titles at WWE Night Of Champions.

In a promo on the May 15 episode of Raw, Zayn noted that he and Owens found out about their Undisputed Tag Team Title defense at Night Of Champions at the same time as everybody else, when the match was made official during the May 12 episode of SmackDown.

Zayn also went on to criticize Reigns in the promo, noting that he has gone unchecked for his entire title reign. Before being interrupted by the Judgment Day, Zayn finished off by saying that Reigns isn't going to steal away the tag team titles from himself and Kevin Owens.

Zayn failed to beat Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship back at the Elimination Chamber in February. Before that, Kevin Owens unsuccessfully challenged Roman Reigns for the same time on numerous occasions.

Zayn has been absent from every premium live event in Saudi Arabia since the birth of the relationship between the country and WWE. Furthermore, Owens has only competed in the country at 2018's Greatest Royal Rumble event.
