Sammy Guevara tosses Chris Jericho to the curb.
After a heated back and forth contest at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam, Jericho countered Guevara's attempt at an shooting star press into a codebreaker, which ended up allowing 'The Ocho' to score the pinfall victory.
After the conclusion of the match, Jericho and Guevara first shook hands and hugged. Only moments later, Guevara kicked Jericho in the groin, which prompted the arrival of Don Callis. Once he made it to the ring, Callis stood by Guevara as the show went to commercial break.

In a backstage segment after the bout, Callis said that more news about the new partnership will be revealed on the September 22 episode of AEW Rampage.
Guevara and Jericho have been aligned with one another since the inception of All Elite Wrestling, as Guevara has been a member in both of Jericho's factions, the Inner Circle and the Jericho Appreciation Society.
