Samoa Joe: HOOK Is Ambitious Beyond His Means, AEW World Title Match Will Be A Wake-Up Call For Him

Samoa Joe says HOOK has never faced someone like him before.

HOOK is 29-1, and he will compete in the biggest match of his career up to this point when he challenges Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship on the January 17 episode of AEW Dynamite. Joe is one of the most decorated veterans on the AEW roster, so he will mark a major step up for HOOK.

Speaking with Chris Mueller for Bleacher Report, Samoa Joe was asked to share his thoughts on HOOK. He stated that HOOK is ambitious beyond his means, and while he is a vicious competitor, he has never seen the kind of violence the champion brings to the ring.

"Obviously ambitious beyond his means. He's a young gentleman who has been very businesslike in his approach and how he handles himself. He's no-nonsense. There's very little fat on the bone both figuratively and literally when it comes to Hook. That makes for a vicious competitor, but he's never been in the ring with somebody like me. He's never seen violence and this level, and it's going to be a big wake-up call for him," Samoa Joe said.
