Samoa Joe Says Triple B Title Is Going In The Trash, Announces Partnership With WB Games

Samoa Joe won his first major World Championship in 15 years when he defeated Maxwell Jacob Friedman at AEW Worlds End. Now that he's World Champion, the issue of Max's custom Burberry World Title has been raised as Joe no longer wants that particular belt to be the symbol of excellence in AEW.

Speaking to Matt Castone of The Queens Gazette on the media scrum following AEW Worlds End, Joe not only revealed that he plans on doing away with Max's custom championship, but he also announced a partnership with WB Games in the build-up to the release of the upcoming video game, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League where he voices King Shark.

Tony Khan Says It's 'Too Soon' To Provide A Concrete Date For Live AEW Pay-Per-Views Debuting On Max

"This [Triple B AEW World Title] is going in the garbage, don’t worry about that. This trash right here, this little knockoff, BS Gucci stuff that he has going on, this is going away. We’re getting the good belt, the right belt, something that is designed well. I’ve spoken with Tony intensively about it and we’re very much looking forward to it. We have a whole new era we’re starting," he said. "I’m here to announce we’re starting our partnership with WB Games. Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, starring myself, we are definitely in some cross-promotion with them, game coming out at the end of January. We have some big things coming up with that. Warner Brothers is crazy, they finally have a champion they can show to the world with pride and respect. Everything is really fantastic right now. I cannot wait for all the wonderful promotional opportunities and the tons of money I’m going to make, y'all get to watch. It’s going to be fantastic. I’m going to make a lot of money. I’m not going to share with any of y'all, but it’s going to be fun to watch me spend."

The game has been delayed on numerous occasions but it's currently slated for an early February release and can be pre-ordered right now on Steam. The game will also be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X. Learn more about the upcoming game here.
