Scott D’Amore Confirms That He Tried To Buy TNA Wrestling After Being Let Go From The Company

Scott D’Amore confirms that he tried to purchase TNA Wrestling.

In January 2024, D’Amore was fired from the company in a sudden move that shocked many performers and fans. A few weeks after the news broke, a report surfaced stating that D’Amore had tried to purchase the promotion from Anthem after his exit.

D’Amore has moved on for the time being, as he’s focused on his new promotion, Maple Leaf Pro. The company will host their first two events on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20.

While speaking to the K100 podcast for a new interview, D’Amore confirmed that he attempted to buy the promotion.

“…It’s public record, I tried to buy the company, right? To set the record straight — for those that say I tried to buy it and then I got let go, I mean, I had got let go and then I tried to buy it which was the more logical series of events. So it’s like, look, I think I know where I want this thing to go and I know where we can take it and I’m willing to put my money and others money where my mouth is and say, ‘Hey, let us acquire it and see what we can do with it.’ Ultimately, that was turned down so they continued to do their thing. Once the bitterness, the hurt feelings, and the anger subsides, just sit there and go, ‘Okay, what’s next?’”

Elsewhere in a separate recent interview, D’Amore reflected on the positives from the AEW/TNA relationship. Learn more by clicking here.
