Waltman has been undergoing therapy on his knee and is hopeful to return to the ring early next year.

"I'm not going out there and saying, 'yeah, I'm gonna do this.' Let's see. Let's see what I got. It feels pretty good. My last doctor visit, probably a month or so ago, they said everything was coming along nicely. I thought I was a little behind because I took a little time off from going to therapy. We'll see. I go to physical therapy again next week. Just in case, I would like to be ready by Royal Rumble time. That's not something that is my main goal to go do Royal Rumble, but if they call me, I would do the Royal Rumble. I love WWE, regardless of what's going on, I love it. I would like for them to be the ones that host my return matches. If not, there are plenty of other people that will. I've already had a lot of people reach out," he said on his Pro Wrestling 4 Life podcast.

Waltman had social media buzzing earlier this month when he posted the following photo:

It is unknown when Waltman will officially make his return to the ring.
