Speculation: Pro Wrestling Card Collectors are ready for AEW Trading Cards

It was three months ago when AEW President and CEO Tony Khan made a guest appearance on the Major Wrestling Figure League Podcast. The host’s Matt Cardona and Brian Myers, talked a little bit of everything with Tony. The conversation was mainly about action figures until the topic of Trading Cards came up. Myers said to Khan, “AEW should get into trading cards.” Tony Khan then confirmed, “It’s happening; we’re gonna do it.”

Since that conversation, it’s been relatively quiet, and nothing has said publicly. The possibility of seeing trading cards by the end of this year is extremely doubtful. That does not mean speculation has stopped for the wanted product.

Pro Wrestling card collectors are ready for the product. It now allows collectors to get cards such as Orange Cassidy, Adam Page, Kenny Omega, and many other wrestlers. Most of the AEW roster has not had a mass-produced trading card.

(Writer’s Note) I am only speculating here, but I am a sports card collector. It will not surprise me if AEW teams up with the Panini Company to make this happen. Panini is the official trading card for both the NFL and the British Premier League. Tony Khan has ownership with teams that play in both leagues.

Upper Deck is a company that I don’t see taking a chance on it. The California based company has the exclusive license for the NHL, Marvel, and Disney.

It would be safe to assume Topps is also not interested in AEW since they have had the exclusive rights to WWE since 2005.
