Seth Rollins: Sometimes Our Writers Miss Storytelling Points

Seth Rollins offers up pointed criticism of the WWE writers.

Becky Lynch has previously stated that one reason fans support her is because her story is relatable. She is the underdog who had to fight for everything while others -- Charlotte Flair and Ronda Rousey -- have been handed those opportunities. It's a true story and one fans can easily sink their teeth into. However, it's not the story WWE went with immediately.

Appearing on The Show on Rock 105.3, Seth Rollins gave his take on how WWE missed something so simple.

"One thing that we as a company miss sometimes are these storytelling points. It goes over the heads of our writers sometimes, it's just what the story is," said Rollins. "Becky's story is super relatable. When she talks about being in Charlotte Flair's shadow, that's a real story that people see and relate to. It took some time for our team to catch on to what was really going on. We have this weird enmeshment of reality and storytelling that no other entertainment industry has. It's hard to figure that out sometimes. We've got it now. Becky is straight fire. She's the Man."

Following her turn on Charlotte at SummerSlam, Becky was portrayed as being in the wrong. She was the bitter friend who had finally snapped. It wasn't until the support for Lynch was so overwhelming that WWE finally changed course and went with the story that was right in front of them.
