Sexy Star Stripped Of AAA Reina de Reinas Title

Sexy Star is still feeling the heat from Triplemania, and now there will be a new Reina in AAA.

On August 26th, AAA and Lucha Underground wrestler Sexy Star retained her Reina de Reinas Championship at AAA's Triplemania XXV. The match was a point of controversy because Sexy Star continued to apply her armbar submission after she had secured victory, injuring her opponent, Impact Wrestling's Rosemary, in the process.

In a statement, Sexy Star said she did not intend to injury Rosemary and casted doubt on the extent of the alleged injured arm. Here is an excerpt of her statement translated by Fightful's Carlos Toro.

"I assure you in the video that is being circulated around the web, all that you see is me portraying Sexy Star making the submission move using the same energy and fury that is characterized by this character, in the same manner, and force without letting go seconds after the referee rang the bell, just as Sexy Star has always done," said Sexy Star

Last night, AAA posted to twitter that the championship Sexy Star retained at Triplemania XXV is now vacant.

Sexy Star held the championship for fifty days, her third reign with this title. Before her reign, the championship was vacant because AAA had stripped it from Taya Valkyrie.

Fightful Wrestling will provide any following statements from the parties involved or developments in Sexy Star's status with AAA.
