Shane McMahon Returns At WrestleMania 39, Injury Leads To Snoop Dogg Defeating The Miz

Shane McMahon returned to WWE at WrestleMania 39, but his hopes of having a WrestleMania moment quickly went sideways.

At the second night of WWE WrestleMania 39, The Miz and Snoop Dogg came to the ring to announce the attendance for the show. The Miz then got upset with Snoop Dogg for putting him in an impromptu match on the first night of the event. When The Miz talked some trash, Snoop Dogg responded by booking him in another match on the spot. The returning Shane McMahon then came to the ring, and he grabbed a microphone to thank the fans. He then took the fight to The Miz, his former tag team partner. But McMahon suffered an apparent leg injury, and he was taken out of the match.

That someone else was revealed to be Shane McMahon, making a match official. McMahon went for. leapfrog on The Miz, but McMahon landed right on his knee. Snoop jabbed The Miz in the ring before hitting a jab on the Miz. Snoop Dogg hit the People's Elbow on The Miz to get an impromptu Pinfall win.

McMahon had been absent since the aftermath of WWE Royal Rumble 2022; Fightful Select previously reported that McMahon wasn't factored into WWE's immediate plans from an on-screen perspective, and that Vince McMahon had told people that his son would never get another pop as long as he was running WWE. That was before Vince McMahon retired in July 2022, though he returned to the company in January 2023.

Fightful will provide more information about Shane McMahon's injury as it becomes available.
