Lakers in 5.

In recent weeks, Shannon Sharpe has went viral on multiple occasions for his 'Lakers In 5' meme that he's been using for years.

Notably, Sharpe has been teasing fans of the Oklahoma City Thunder ahead of a potential NBA Playoffs matchup between the team and the Los Angeles Lakers. Currently, the Thunder are the number one seed in the Western Conference while the Lakers are the fifth seed.

On the March 17 edition of the show, Shannon Sharpe referenced WWE, "rhyming" the company's Royal Rumble event with Boost Mobile bundle and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Last week, Sharpe "rhymed" Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's nickname, SGA, with PGA and USA before busting out the signature 'Lakers In 5' phrase.

The Oklahoma City Thunder currently hold a 1-0 record over the Lakers this season. The teams will play each other two more times before the start of the NBA Playoffs in April.

Jeremy's Notes: The Los Angeles Lakers have not won a playoff series in five games or less since 2020 in the bubble. Not counting the bubble playoffs, the Lakers have not won a playoff series in five games or less since 2010.

The Los Angeles Lakers have not clinched a playoff spot. The Oklahoma City Thunder will clinch home court in the Western Conference within the next week.

LeBron James and Luka Doncic have never won a playoff game together. JJ Redick has never won a playoff game as a head coach.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are having a historically great regular season in terms of net rating and margin of victory. Shai Gilgeous Alexander is going to win the MVP.

If the playoffs started today, the Thunder and Lakers wouldn't meet until the conference finals, should both teams win their first and second-round matchups.

WWE and the Royal Rumble have nothing to do with the NBA playoffs. The Rumble happened in February. The playoffs haven't started yet. Sorry, Tyrese Haliburton.

Brandon Jennings and Bucks in 6 didn't die for this.
